Not a big place, but medium cozy. Excellent. Been going here for years. Toshi and Suzuki provide large portions, excellent freshness, and creativity. Both xlnt tables and sushi bar seating. Evenings will be busy. For a lusty, real alternative to the california roll, try Toshi's Crab Salad Roll, with real crab. Green tea is excellent, a nice stimulant but very smooth and never gives me a headache a couple days later...some of the best green tea around, IMHO. Miya takes their hot items pretty seriously too, one of which I love is the shishito peppers. MIya's yellow tail sushi is VERY consistent in the way it is cut, toro style. Speaking of toro, Miya almost never carries it. Ikura and Uni are generally excellent. Miya also serves oysters on the half shell, in season.

Great food without the hype! Always good, never had a bad meal there, and it is great to see other regulars who come back every week or so. Found this place by accident 11 years ago when we moved here and it is our "go to" sushi place. Highly recommended!!

Miya is in one of those ubiquitous Valley strip malls, off the beaten and very expensive Ventura Blvd track. If you want some of the freshest, top quality traditional Japanese sushi in a comfortable, neighborhood setting, this is the place to go. Quality is top notch, prices are reasonable, service is friendly, and all the food is excellent.
