“Suprisingly good”
Reviewed September 9, 2012

We had a Restaurant.com gift certificate so we decided to try it after we saw Book of Mormon at the Pantages Theatres. The place is very dark and still looks old, though I heard it was restored about a decade ago. The service was very good, quick and efficient. The food was surprisingly good. We had the spinach salad with chicken and it was delicious. Then my husband and I shared the meatballs and spaghetti and a small margherita pizza. The whole meal was simply delicious. We saved $25 with the gift certificate, which was a bonus, but the prices were very reasonable and we will definitely return, with or w/o a gift certificate. The only real negative was the bathroom was down a couple flights of stairs. Kind of scary and creepy. Kept waiting for someone to jump out!

“A historic place gone to waste”
Reviewed August 18, 2012

This is no longer the place it used to be. We had a lousy waitress, the food was not good, our plates were cleared out at 10pm, not even empty, because they were starting a Karaoke to which nobody came. Karaoke? Come on!
They should have let us finish our meal. But on the other hand, I am glad they took it out since it wasn't tasty anyway.

“A slice of old Hollywood”
Reviewed July 18, 2012

I have been wanting to try this place since the restoration of the building and the restaurant's reopening about 10 years ago. Finally made it! Other reviewers have mentioned poor, slow service. We experienced quite the opposite; the server was prompt and very pleasant. The food was good (we had the shepherd's pie and the chicken pot pie, plus a radicchio and arugula salad), although pricey for what you get, and the music was way too loud and spoiled the ambience. The atmosphere is great, being able to look up at that beautiful carved ceiling! All in all, a pretty good experience right in the heart of tourist Hollywood.

“Food great but Staff horrible”
Reviewed July 12, 2012

The food here was great. The atmosphere was neat but the service was horrible! We waited forever to see our server for anything be it drinks, ordering or the cheque. Our waitress had such a bad attitude too. We had asked for the bill to be seperate (there were only two of us) and she told me that they couldn't do that. She then proceeded to tell us that the restaurant had existed from the 20's and they don't have the ability to seperate a bill and then handed us a computerized bill. Watiress had such bad attitude that even though the food was great, we wouldn't go back.
