“Gorgeous space and wonderful brunch!”
Reviewed September 21, 2012

This is a fabulous place to have brunch with your best girlfriend or your mother-in-law. The atmosphere is wonderful, but enjoy it now, because it's slated to close in November to make way for some (potentially) short-winded, gastronomic extravagance called Republique. Campanile has been the benchmark for upscale brunch since 1989....let's hope the new tenants preserve the history, which includes La Brea Bakery and Charlie Chaplin's film offices!

“Haute Italian & cocktails in West LA”
Reviewed September 20, 2012 via mobile

Beautiful made to resemble the interior of an abbey. Valet essentially requisite. Started w/ very good pisco sour drink ($12), which was like an excellent margarita w/ meringue on top. App was chicken en croute pâté w/ 'Marsala gelee.". Very fancy & pretty but failed to really awaken my taste buds. Then had small version of the sautéed trenne pasta in a very meaty bolognese sauce. The triangular penne was lightly pan fried after boiling, giving it a unique & creative crispness. Must admit to not being hungry enough to have tried a regular entree. Would be a good option for a quiet, well-served, romantic dinner.

“Believe it.”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

A classic Los Angeles restaurant. Beautiful room. Beautifully served food. Ask the well-educated staff for recommendations as the menu changes. They have one of the greatest caesar salads if you are there for lunch. You can often find meters on LaBrea, so keep your eyes peeled for parking.

“Nice place”
Reviewed August 18, 2012

I have been here 3 times, twice in the bar for wine and appetizers and once for a wine tasting event. All the times I have been happy and will come back. The bartenders are friendly and provide good service. The wine selection is very good. If you get a chance to attend one of their wine events, you will enjoy it. I attended the Rioja tasting put on in partnership with K&L Wines, it I was impressed. I lived in Spain for 3 years and they provided some of the very good Rioja's I knew as well as some new ones. For the $25 fee, all the wine and tapas provided were an excellent value. I have never sat a table to experience the full dinner, but plan to.

The restaurant building itself is an older historic building that has a great atmosphere.

“awesome cheese and food”
Reviewed August 12, 2012

Now we are talking about delicious food with grace. The food is good and fresh with a menu that seems not to stop. The eggs are yummy and the salad with bread. wow. Talk about a basket of bread or muffins.... The main room is lovely with a fountain to greet you. There are rooms for private parties. The service is attentive and courteous. They don't hover over you yet they seem to be there at the correct time.
