This is the best place to have breakfast in the city. Huge portions. My family shares plates. Worth the wait in line.

Got off an early morning flight to LA, staggered to front reception desk of JW Marriott and asked where I could get breakfast? True to their training, the staff promoted the food outlets within the hotel. I asked them again, "Where would YOU eat breakfast?" "Oh my God - you have to go to the Pantry!!!!!"

About three blocks away is THE BEST PANCAKES I have ever eaten. We both got the #3 which is $10.50 for two eggs any way you want them, your choice of meat (either sausage, bacon or ham) and choice of french toast or pancakes. It also comes with hasbrowns.

We both got the eggs, bacon and pancakes. The pancakes were huge and I think there were 3-4 of them? Plenty of syrup and butter. The bacon - they give you 6-7 slices of bacon on top of your eggs. The hash browns are awesome, but I was devouring the pancakes so had the good sense to ease up on the hashbrowns. You might understand this bordering on a spiritual experience. Loved it.

Had a red eye out of LA seven days later and stopped in to get pancakes for my pre-flight dinner/breakfast. You can't get the #3 or all the breakfast items until 2AM. Cash only. Happy customers. Sometimes there is a line out front for seating. I found it moved quickly aroudn 10AM on a Thursday.

This is an L.A. must. Been open 24/7 every day since the 1920s (except for one day in the late 90s when the Mayor owned it). The Pantry has the best breakfast in L.A. and possibly the country. I've never been disappointed here.

OK, so the waiters are cranky...but I grew up going here and love it. The food is old time diner...the place is crowded and noisy, but this is old LA....circa 1920s and a must see. Huge portions of delicious food. Breakfast a huge (consider sharing) plate of hash browns, a plate of bacon, a plate of freshly sliced toasted bread and your eggs. Open 24 hours, paid parking in a lot across the street. Only $2 with validated ticket. Super close to LA Live.

This place is amazing! Great food, huge portions at cheap prices, and fast service so you can ignore the line outside waiting to get in. If anyone has ever been New Orleans, this place is the Cafe Du Monde of LA! Its also a quick walk from the convention center so its perfect for people who want a quick bite to eat and its much more cost-effective than a expensive places around LA Live. Definetly try their hot chocolate w/ whipped cream but there coffee was amazing too! Just be aware that when you order these portions are all huge and might come with extras that youre not aware of. After staying in LA a week this was def by all time favorite and highly recommend anyone visiting LA to come here. Hell if the locals are lining up to get in than you know its good!
