“The ultimate linoleum diner.... a must”

An experience. Rub elbows with celebs and everyman in this place. A landmark where you get portions built for a college football player and real down home cookin!

THE BEST COLE SLAW.......EVER!

“Classic!”

Be prepared to stand in a line outside the restaurant, but the wait is worth it. Fantastic breakfast, huge portions for a low price. The pancakes were to die for! Cash only.

“Opened in 1924 - never closes - dynamic in every way !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013 via mobile

The bread & coleslaw is over the top . The service very fast .
Portions are huge . It's 2 blocks from the staples center & a short walk from JW Marriott. The price so cheap for the outstanding food. It's worth the wait if they have a line . It's no wonder they have been in business since 1924.
This restaurant has something for everyone .
They serve 2500-3000 daily truly amazing .

“Old time breakfast joint”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 15, 2013

I know The Pantry is open around the clock but I always hit it for breakfast. When in downtown LA, I have to go. Since my last visit, they have split the restaurant in half, making half Riordans Pub. The pancakes, bacon, hashbrowns are all cooked to perfection. We got our coffee fast, order taken quickly and the food arrived hot. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to remember what a diner was like and how good freshly prepared food can be. Just remember to bring cash. No cards accepted.

“What a disappointment”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013

After waiting in line in the cold for 45 minutes after the Rose Bowl parade, my family and I were excited, hearing the comments of repeat customers in line. The waitress promptly brought a wonderful plate of delicious sourdough bread. However, the entrees were nothing special. My husband did not eat his meatloaf that he said tasted like grade school cafeteria food. The waitress was efficient but no personality or smile. I made the mistake of visiting the ladies room. Filthy!! There was large accumulation of dust on the vent covers, old dirty. I can only imagine the kitchen. Will not go back.
