“It's Gotten Pricier But Still Worth It”
Reviewed September 3, 2012

I have been coming here for more than 25 years. The atmosphere is very upbeat tho never too noisy. When I first started coming here the prices were ridiculously low for superior quality food. In the past 2 years I've been here about 4 times and I have noticed the prices climb very steadily. Twenty four dollars for a 'dinner' cut of prime rib is a bit steep considering it comes only with a potato or rice. Service is always friendly but they can get bogged down occasionally. All in all, it is still a very worthwhile place to visit. For me, it will be more of a special occasion place as opposed to a regular haunt due to the pricing.

“Neighborhood Legend”
Reviewed July 20, 2012

Been there for 57+ years for good reason! Great steak at great prices. No pretense, just history and hearty fare. Old time steak house atmosphere - complete with red leather booths and a bar that knows how to make any mixed drink on the planet. Competent, friendly service from a staff that has been doing it for years and still pays enthusiastic attention to detail. A real neighborhood gem!

“Faded Glory”
Reviewed June 1, 2012

Taylor's used to be a favorite spot when I would visit Los Angeles -- it's old school vibe, cozy bar and excellent steaks take you back to Mad Men days. A recent visit was a disappointment. The martinis are still fabulous, but the food was not as good, the service was rushed and the pace of the meal off. Maybe it was just a bad night, or maybe they're coasting on their status as an LA landmark. It'll always be a nostalgic favorite for me, but I hope that they improve their game.

“Reasonable Old Time Steakhouse in Los Angeles”
Reviewed May 11, 2012

Taylor's Steakhouse has been around since 1953 and still maintains its old time charm and great food. The restaurant has 3 levels, the 1st and 3rd levels are the restaurant and the 2nd level is a bar. We ate on the upper level. We had a 6:30 reservation and by the time we left the restaurant was pretty full.

We started off with coctails, btw, the bartender makes an awesome chocolate martini, then shared a side salad which was good and an onion ring appetizer which was just ok, wouldn't reorder onion rings again. We all had some form of steak, I had the filet which was cooked perfectly, plus all the steak portion sizes were fairly large. The dinner came with one side, I ordered the creamed spinach, so good. Finally I had the cheesecake topped with strawberries, very good. Someone else ordered the creme brulee, they said it was fabulous.

The wait staff were extremely friendly and attentive. They offer valet parking on the premises for $3.50, very reasonable and I would definitely recommend. Taylor's is a great place for a romatic dinner, dinner with friends, or just looking for a great steak dinner.
