My wife and i dined for the first time at Cafe Beaujolais this evening. They weren't taking reservation so we took our chances and just showed-up. We were told the wait was 30 to 40 minutes. It turned out to be much shorter. The time passed quickly as we sat out front drinking a delicious French red wine.
We were seated in the tiny back room which was both good and bad; it was much quieter, but a little stuffy. The restaurant is loud. While the decor is simple and perhaps tired, the vibe is friendly and informal. Service was a little slow.
We started with a duck pate which was subtle and delicious. The waiter's recommendations were spot on. My wife ordered the Halibut and it was delicious. I had the rack of lamb, and it was also fabulous. We were full and tired so we didn't stick around for dessert, but we will be back.
