The food at the Dresden is truly dreadful. Think basic old-style dishes like chicken cordon bleu. Everything has a cheap, cheesy and saucy taste to it. The quality seemed somewhere between school cafeteria and 1970s airline. The interior is baroque and ugly. Service is reasonably polite and efficient. I suppose some people might find this kind of antique place quaint or retro, but frankly I cannot see it.

This place is a lot of fun. Great neighborhood. I rang in the new year here with a few friends. I have never eaten here so my review is just based on atmosphere and drinks. What a lovely experience! Very friendly staff. Great champagne. This place was packed. You are transported back in time. Felt very 40's to me. Great place to get dressed up and listen to talented musicians play and sing while you dine. I wish we had eaten here too. Very fun!

From the moment you step in, you are entranced. The bartenders have spend a few years at this place, perhaps a few too many...but thats part of the charm. The drinks are small, nothing special. The ambiance is dated...VERY dated. The entrainment is....well....Charming. Marty and Elaine perform nightly, and total captivate the audience. The room is filled with young and old, and they flock to this Los Feliz temple. You are transported back in time as Marty and Elaine entertain you, and the somewhat crotchety bar tenders keep the booze flowing.

There is a classic dining room on one side, and a wonderful bar/lounge on the other. Get there late to see Marty and Elaine, and watch them cross over from old standards from Sinatra to more unlikely hits from Donna Summer, the beatles, and more.

This is worth a flight to LA....

This was a great family run restaurant and bar. We went here for the dine and ride to a concert, which was the best choice we could have made. When I stepped into the bar I fell in love with the place. The decor is incredibly retro, original and cozy. The restaurant portion has huge white clam shaped seats with wooden spires and interesting lighting fixtures. The staff is incredible and each have been there for over 15 years which says a lot about the owners. The drinks were good. Gustavo makes a great Mai Tai.

Dinner was awesome and I have to say, after 60 years of making prime rib, they definitely do have it down. It was very yummy and the service was fantastic. I can't say enough great things about this restaurant.

Oh and they also have nightly entertainment, which we will travel back to LA just to eat here and enjoy the bar entertainment and retro ambiance with the great staff.

This LA classic serves crappy mixed drinks from surly old bartenders, while the food on the menu is mediocre at best. But if you're complaining about that you're a heartless grump who is totally missing the point. The Dresden Room is a booze soaked classic that evokes another era, with an old school lounge lizard vibe you can't experience anywhere else in the city. The hipsters who currently occupy Los Feliz have adopted it as their own, but so does every generation who comes along. Try to grab a comfortable booth and do not miss Marty and Elayne Tuesday- Saturday nights as they croon loungey covers of Ricky Martin and The Carpenters. Call it kitsch, call it classic... just don't miss out on this unique LA landmark.
