“Love this place”
Reviewed January 22, 2013

We have been there three times. Every time it has been excellent. There are so many different choices and everything looks so good.
We had breakfast twice and lunch one, the omelettes are amazing, all of the pastries and salads are good also.
There is really an amazing amount of selections, some of them are very unique also.
Reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of food.

“Joan's on Third is first rate.”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

I like Joan.I have never met her but she knows how to make some damn fine eats.
It's ALWAYS busy here so expect to be bumped into numerous times while walking around in a dazed state as you stare at cheeses, cupcakes, cookies, candies, breads, ready to eat deli items like rosemary maple chicken or snap peas with asparagus.Chalk board full of items they can whip up-(well it's not all that fast)-fresh for you .It's not cheap either. They do have an extensive menu for catering /holidays.
Thanks Joan-whoever you are.

“Cross between a New York deli and French Bistro”
Reviewed January 7, 2013

I read abouth this restaurant last year and was dying to try it. Well today was the big day! Got there at 11:30 and it wasn't too crowded yet. I ordered the short rib sandwich and a latte. They were both delicious. My friend Bill ordered the Milanese chicken sandwich and he loved it too. We shared a chocolate cupcake with coconut frosting. What a treat!!! When you walk in, you will see a tremendous variety of cheeses and breads. You can ask for samples if you wish. Around the corner is a full deli with lots of selections such as salads, focaccia, pastas etc...you can order a sandwich there or on the other side of the counter you can order the hot food. They have the best looking burgers with skinny fries. The coffes, desserts, gelato and bakery items area against the wall. Whatever you order, you will not be disappointed. There are some yummy gift ideas there too as well as things your would find at an upscale market such as olive oil, olives, tapanades, dressings, croutons etc.....

“My Home Away from Home”

Everyone who visits Los Angeles from Australia should have breakfast at Joans. It does not get any better. Every time I am in LA I go to Joans and everytime it is perfect. How often do you see the owner of a business walking and talking to customers to make sure everything is perfect.
Joan does exactly this. The food is always 10 out of 10, the staff are genuinely interested in serving you and the atmosphere is REALLY special. I wish I could take Joans on Third back to Sydney.

“A busy place”
Reviewed December 15, 2012

A busy place worth visiting to eat there or for take-aways. It is expensive though but food is of very good quality. Breakfast there is very pleasant.
