“Still great 30 years and counting for me”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2014

Started going here 30 years ago. It is exactly the same inside as it was 30 years ago- don't mess with a great thing. The food in my opinion is great and just what I want from a LA Mexican restaurant. The locals eat here and love it.

Parking is quite rare- just look around the neighborhood for a spot. Prices are reasonable and they even have their own fresh tortilla maker - heavenly.

“Always great”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2014

Went to Paco's way back in the early 1990's. Many of the same staff are still there after all these years. The food is always great. We try to get next to the aquarium on the far side. You might wait for some time if you get there after 6:30pm but it is all worth it. If you do wait there is a bench area and they keep the chips and salsa flowing. Just go if you find yourself on the west side of LA.

“Mexican - REAL!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2014 via mobile

Best tacos i have had in the US. The dishes, tortillas, atmosphere, seasoning, service, all made me feel back to my beloved Mexico! To my mexican friends, if you want hand made flour tortillas, those are GLORY!

“Whole family enjoyed! ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2014 via mobile

Grew up in SoCal, been away for 15 years...this is exactly what I've been dreaming about!

Got good vibes from the start - had to wait 20 minutes, we were led in past the old ladies making tortillas, the chips and salsa came immediately and we're very good. We ordered a pitcher of Margaritas and carne asada tacos. The carne asada was beautifully seasoned and came on a piping hot fresh corn tortilla. The beans were light and almost buttery with a cheesy mess on top. Wonderful.

For the kids, we ordered the the quesadilla plate - to which my 7 y/o daughter said it was "fantastic", the highest compliment I think she's ever given a restaurant.

Enjoy!

“Its Well Worth the Drive”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2014

From throughout LA and beyond, people who enjoy truly authentic and delicious Mexican food drive the extra distance to Paco's Tacos. Oh yes, it was once the location for the filming of a Tom Cruise flick scene. But that's not why we, the faithful of Paco's for years, return time and again. Its because of the food, a blend of Tex-Mex and original Mexican recipes that have been developed and honed by the family since they founded the place. The food is all prepared fresh daily from the handmade tortillas being slapped together by two women who have been there for years steadily feeding buttery, real-deal flour tortillas to a usually busy house full of appetites. From the moment you're seated, a bucket of warm, lightly salted chips and salsa are delivered to your table and I've never seen anyone who can resist them. But pace yourself. The best part is yet to come. Of course I mean the meal but why not start with a blended Cadillac Margarita, which is your traditional Margarita with a side of top-shelf tequila. It costs a little more but the flavor is a world of difference. You can order a single or do as we do. Order a carafe and share the fun. Now, for the food, I enjoy the traditional Tex-Mex enchiladas with cheddar cheese, rice and refried beans. Make sure to ask for extra enchilada sauce and that they come hot so that you enjoy the full richness of the cheese flavor along with the other great stuff on your plate. My wife enjoys the "Tampiquena", another house speciality. It is a generous portion of medium sliced seared beef skirt covered with sauteed onions and slivers of bell peppers seasoned just right and accompanied with rice and beans. Tell them how cooked you want the steak. I recommend no more than medium so that the meat is fully cooked, yet tender. Also, try the flan, their traditional Mexican custard dessert. They're not shy about making it sharper in taste than other places but with a great cup of fresh coffee or just another Margarita, the combo will make Paco's a place you'll return to often. We have for more than fifteen years.
