We first were introduced to Locanda Veneta in the late 80s. It was the place to take an agent/manager/ actor for lunch or dinner. But then if fell off the radar – only to recently return as a cozy hangout for a fabulous Italian dining experience. Decades ago it was tough to get a reservation – but now, while it’s still tight, it’s worth the effort to get over to Locanda Veneta. And the service almost exceeds the food – it’s a horse race! The staff is thoughtful, concerned and wanting to please, -- we felt like major award winners…in a town of ‘also ran’s….

Locanda Veneta has been such a treat each time, we just had to recommend this place to our friends and we all now continually return. Our various meals have included : Burrata Caprese (Creamy Fresh Mozzarella, Tomatoes and Basil – beautifully prepared and tasty); Calamari Alla Veneta (fantastic), Spaghetti Bolognese (it doesn’t get better); Ossobuco Con Risotto Zafferano (great for a cold night); Italian Amaretto Cheesecake (we wanted to reorder another round).

Locanda Veneta has become an over-the-top, magnificent dining pleasure -- one of the best Italian Restaurants in Los Angeles – It’s a run don’t walk! On the scale “A” to “F” – an “A” for the entire meal and service! Bravo!

This small, intimate Italian has been and continues to serve some of the finest Italian food in L.A.
Ate here twice in the past several months (once for late lunch and once for dinner) with both times being excellent.
For the late lunch we requested the dinner menu as the lunch menu seemed to be a set three course affair and we wanted a la carte.
Particularly love the gnocchi bolognese, veal marsala, seafood with pasta and the antipasto plate.
Desserts were excellent including amaretto cheese cake and tiramasu.
Also the wine list while not huge is complete and fairly priced. The house Pinot was a good choice by the bottle.
Service is professional yet relaxed and most knowledgeable.
Would return.

This wonderful little Italian restaurant has survived when a lot of the so-called hot new Italian places closed over the years. Last night a colleague and I decided to go there. We sat outside in the warm Los Angeles air. There were a number of patrons inside but we lucked out and no one else was out on the patio. We decided to split 3 dishes and they were all AMAZING! We share a salad of lightly grilled calamari, so fresh! ON top of a bed of spicy greens. Yummy. Then we split 2 pastas: one was spicy with lentils and vegetables and the other was seafood in a tomato sauce (on top of a thick homemade spaghetti). Every bite was amazing, the maitre'd and the waiters were all super nice. The ingredients were so fresh, as they always have been. And I'm so glad I was reminded to keep coming back here! It wasn't cheap but it wasn't ridiculously expensive either, and it was so good that I almost want to go back again tonight!

First of all, Los Angeles and Beverly Hills have an abundance of fine eating establishments. So to stand out with fine italian as Locanda Veneta has takes some hard work. Basically two prix fix menus with several selections on each, plus an extraordinary soup and salad offering.
Each menu offers choice of several soups or salads as a beginning, then followed by at least twelve entrée offerings. Put all this together with an intimate setting and what a better place for a lunch or dinner. We enjoyed the salad Tricolor and a roasted pork loin stuffed with sausage dressing all over a balsamic vinegar reduction.

This was accompanied by a fine Italian red wine ( one glass only for me,) I had a business meeting shortly after.

The staff was absolutely great. Just the right amount of presence without being overbearing.
When in this part of LA, it will become a go to spot for business and friends dining.

Small and intimate, but not stuffy and stuck-up. Fantastic food. We had the zucchini blossoms - lightly breaded and filled with a delicous light cheese mix - served with a pesto/marinara. Outstanding. The eggplant appetizer is a must. Fresh, hot - delicious. We allowed our superb waiter, Ernesto, to select our wines and they are right on the spot. The kitchen will often make off-menu items, so be brave and ask. For example, once I knew that had fresh truffles, they were more than happy to make a simple truffle risotto. AMAZING. I had eaten it there before and it was a special treat! Our table ordered the lasagne (dont be fooled, this is not Olive Garden) you can simply taste the care and love in the thin sheets of pasta and the light but intense sauce; asparagus risotto (risotto is never a disappointment here); and gnocchi. Everyone licked the plate clean. This is a special place for close friends and family but you can easily have a business dinner too. Fine dining with great staff, wonderful food and reasonable prices. It seems the average past entree is below $23-25 and healthy portions. The bread is marvelous - airy and yet rustic - served with a pesto spread. I dont even like pesto and we have two bowls of it. Go... you will love it. The table claimed the tiramisu was the best they had every had, not sure, since I am not a big fan.
