“Friendly and good place to catch up with sports”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2013

This is a very friendly and good place to catch up with sports as well as a reasonable bit to eat, the servers are all young and appear to enjoy a little talk with customers, always a good sign, large stock of beers, good food reasonable price.

“Great British experience in Studio City.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 26, 2013 via mobile

Great local place on Ventura blvd. The beer selection is big and the basic English food was very good.
They have darts and a great British feel to it. We will be going again soon. Last thing, the service and servers
We're so friendly and helpful. Lots of fun.

“Not especially British, but not bad either”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

We were staying nearby at the Sportsmen's Lodge and this restaurant was an easy walk so we decided to give it a try. We were early for a Saturday evening dinner, but the place began to fill up as the night went on and was agreeably crowded by the time we were done. There is a bar area on one side (trying to pass as a "pub") and a restaurant adjacent; each is filled with British decorations and there are English foods, knick-knacks & candies for sale at the cash register.

The "pub" area did not appeal, with its inevitable sports TV and too-loud rock & roll music, but the restaurant was quieter and more comfortable -- there was an interesting war going on, in fact, between employees as to how loud the music in the dining area should be and how bright the lighting; each would go up, then down, then up again. It made for an amusing show. The decor of the restaurant is a bit on the twee side, but since it was mid-October everything was covered in "cobwebs" for Hallowe'en and not especially visible anyway.

The draft beer menu was extensive, and the food no less so; unfortunately, this is still America so even the British "pub ales" were served stone cold, which was too bad because they're much better when they're less refrigerated --- warming them up with my hands was tiresome, but served the purpose. This may be the only place in Los Angeles where a person can quaff a pint of "Old Speckled Hen," even if it is too cold.

The food was the biggest surprise, because it was extremely good which is not what one typically expects in a pub. My pepper steak & chips was delicious, the fish & chips were exemplary, the chicken pie was excellent and the "Irish Stew" (on special that night) was one of the best I've ever tasted.
