How often is it that a hotel manager gives you a lift to a store, waits while you shop and then has you and your friend over at his home (to which he also drives you) for a meal with his family? During my stay, Aaron was a real star. The hotel staff were friendly and obliging too. The Wilshire Crest is in a reasonable walking distance of public transport, a hop-on hop-off tourist bus stop, The Grove mall, pharmacies & other stores, restaurants (including a Kosher pizzeria) and synagogues. A Kosher breakfast with options from fruit to cereal to cakes is included in the price. I would definitely consider staying here again.

Everything you want in a smallish hotel on a quiet street adjacent to the bustle of L.A. Gracious comfy livingroom areas; outdoor patios for socializing or reading; large diningroom with intimate breakfast tables, which can be reconfigured into a banquet hall (book in advance). The whole place is immaculately clean. Bedrooms are spacious (frig.,AC-heat);, very nice bathrooms;
separate mirrored-all-around alcove sink makes hair & makeup easy. The beds are incredibly
luxurious; I almost slept through the buffet-breakfast, but we had a busy day ahead, so I dragged myself from the "arms of Morpheus" and it was definitely worth it ! Both the health "nuts" and the sybarites were satisfied.
Drawbacks?? not really. No chocolate-on-your-pillow. No shoes-left-outside-the-door-to-be-polished. No white-gloved hands outstretched to be tipped! No,it's not the St.Regis (NYC), theoRitz (Boston), the Connaught (London), the George V (Paris) and I've stayed at them all!
But if you want a lovely of calm and comfort in busy L.A., it just can't be beat.

Room Tip: We asked for 2 big adjoining rooms, 2nd floor

The Wilshire Crest is not fancy, but it's comfortable, friendly, and quiet. Our room was huge, with a little dining/sitting area and a big built-in vanity with loads of room for all of our various bottles and tubes. Every day in the lobby and lounge, there were attractive vases full of gladiolas. Very helpful and cheerful staff. The only room for improvement would be the breakfast spread. It was semi-European, with sliced cukes and tomatoes, and cottage cheese. But there were only cornflakes and cheerios for cereal, plus some really awful instant oatmeal (Quaker is SO MUCH better), along with plain bagels (ugh) and bananas that remained green the whole duration of our stay. A little more variety would have been welcome. Otherwise, it was excellent and very economical, and the location couldn't be better.

My husband and I were completely happy about finding this hotel. It's on a tree lined street just blocks from busy Wilshire, Fairfax, and the hub of Hollywood. We were in a room on the street and didn't hear any traffic. The rest of the street is cute apts and condos, so neighbors are walking their dogs and it felt far removed from L.A. The check in/check out clerks were very friendly, the breakfast was surprisingly plentiful, and the lobby and grounds are almost European countryside feeling. Great little secret near the rush of Hollywood but with all the charm of a personal little boutique hotel, at a very fair price.

Room Tip: We were on the corner, room 111, so neighbors on one side only, and near the exit door for easy in a...

It's my second stay at this hotel. In a word: fabulous, small and elegant with great, personal service, yet spacious rooms with comfortable beds. Centrally located, a real gem! Breakfast is an added bonus.

Room Tip: I've traveled with family and used adjoining rooms (with doors in-between)

Staying in LA was becoming so expensive so when my friend and I found this hotel, we jumped on it. The price was right, especially for a weekend, and the location was good. Since LA requires driving EVERYWHERE, staying in a more "trendy" neighborhood didn't really seem necessary. The rooms are huge and very clean. They are nothing super fancy, but they are comfortable and fulfilled their purpose. The water pressure in the shower was super low, but that is really the extent of our issues with the hotel. They provide you with a street parking pass and we never once weren't able to find a spot, even at 2 in the morning! I would recommend this hotel to a friend, but I wouldn't recommend LA in general. Overall, a nice stay.
