In fact, this hotel was perfect for us, we were 2 friends, and we had fun so much !

Thank you very much,

I will come back soon, i hope everything didn't change !

The pool was fantastic, the "night club" was wonderfull, our 3 days there was the best in LA

Came here on a business trip. Was upgraded to a truly huge room but still depressing due to long narrow cave with windows on just one edge. Furniture kind of cool but had to call maintenance to get light bulbs replaced. Internet speed measured 500 Kbps download, i.e., about 1/100th a good home connection. Breakfast was good. Staff was generally confused, e.g., the front desk said that a suit would come back from laundry at 2 to 3 pm while another said 6 pm. The gym is a very depressing windowless environment. I guess I have becomes so old that I prefer Hyatt. That is sad....

Service was extremely friendly, often not the case in an LA hipster hangout. Extremely comfortable bed. Nice toiletries. Lovely rooftop bar, with choice of übercool hipster side or the quaint Biergarten that served German beer & food. I chose the latter, & as a German cuisine aficionado, thought it was very good! Oh, and a great gym to work it off. Only downside was that the blinds let in too much light for perfect sleeping.

Room Tip: I was on 3rd floor & could hear some street noise; higher might be quieter. But don't get to...

A very cool hotel, contemporary decor, but surprisingly empty. Seems like there are not too many people around at any restaurants. Recently went to the rooftop lounge /bar, was quite at 9pm, but starting buzzing right around 11ish. Food was just okay, ambience was great, decor was great!

I stayed here for one night back in August for work. The hotel is a bit quirky with a bit of a wacky modern 70s feel. I got upgraded to a larger room, which was very open with an open shower and a huge bathtub in the middle of the room. Overall, it was central for work and a decent place to stay though honestly, I don't think I'd want to stay here again with the wacky ambiance.
Also, gotta say that the overall feel of the hallways and elevators was a bit rundown.

The place overall was secure (security guard stood and check whether patrons of the hotel were the only ones entering into the elevators) and in a good location (considering you're in dwntwn LA, with many bums/homeless in the premises). I would not recommend this place for families or those looking for a romantic getaway; it definitely is a fun/party hotel. What I was extremely shocked about is how the strong and pungent odor of marijuana within the hallways/elevator shaft didn't seem to alarm the staff or security...but hey it's LA.
In regards to the rooms they were quite "minimalist"; the matress was inside some sort of bed frame that was built into the floor. Basically the bed/matress is on the floor, which is okay except we're not in college anymore and have become used living like adults. The other semi-complaint I have is the walls or lack there of. First, we could literally hear everything that was going on in the rooms next to us, awkward. Second, the restroom walls are exactly as described on their website...glass. Which is fine, since my husband and I are very comfortable with one another...except for one thing the "heavy-duty RR". So be prepared to: either exit the room or just pull the sheer curtains over and giggle.
I will say this, the staff was exceptional. Whether it was the concierge/front desk, security, or cleaning staff all made sure their guests were satisfied. The front desk recommend a list of restaurants we should try & they suggested the best routes for our destinations. The security (with the exception of the pot odor) made us feel safe; showing their presence for those entering and exiting guests elevators made everyone feel comfortable with the stay. The cleaning staff did their best to please us; as I previously stated the rooms are bare and not filled with many items, the staff brought additional towels and pillows very quickly and made sure to ask if we needed anything else.
All in all, I would recommend this hotel, but note that it isn't for a romantic getaway or a place you'd want to take your kids. It's somewhere to let your hair down and have fun, just be ready for the glass restroom and very-very low beds! (LOL!!)

We stayed at the Standard for three nights to attend the Creative Arts Emmy awards in September. The hotel is very modern and has a great location. Valet parking is a breeze and they have your car to you in a flash. The rooftop bar is great too. The rooms are large and very open - the bathtub literally jets out in the middle; separating the bathroom area from the living area and has curtains all around it. Front desk staff was top notch too. But then whenyou go to LA you expect it, don't you!?!
