This was our second visit to the Brentwood Inn and we were as favorably impressed as the first time. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, the staff is friendly and helpful and the continental breakfast is more than enough to satisfy almost anyone. Since we were last there, they've added free WiFi and big screen tvs, but the ongoing popularity of this small hotel (and the dificulty in getting a reservation) is adequate testimony to its excellence. We'll be back. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: You have a better chance if you call the hotel directly rather than relying on the internet for a reservation, though online rez is sometimes less expensive.

The Brentwood Inn is a very convenient motel, and since a light breakfast and parking are included the value is good. The staff are all extremely friendly, efficient and helpful. The location is handy to the freeway and very close to the beautiful Getty Museum. The rooms are plain but clean and there is no noise between rooms.
However there is a lot of noise from the road, and the fire station is across the street, so there can be sirens at all times of the night. This can be alleviated if you leave the A/C on low all night, but we did get awakened a lot the first night even though our room was close to the back. We walked to the farmer's market on Sunday which was only about five blocks away, but most restaurants/shopping are a good 15-20 minute walk away.
I think this hotel is a good one if you're going to be doing a lot of driving to different parts of L.A., but not if you want to hang around the hotel or neighbourhood.

This was our second stay at this small old style hotel. You park your car in front of your room here, and as other reviewers have said, the rooms and bathrooms are small compared so some other chain hotels. Just a few miles from UCLA, this family owned hotel has the nicest staff and they go out of their way to make your stay perfect. As we had an very large truck to bring my mother in law's scooter, they gave us a small stepping stool with a "reserved" sign to hold one of the larger parking spaces in front of our room while we were gone. This was so helpful in terms of getting a space we fit in as well as one that allowed an easy loading of an elderly lady! The rooms are very clean, comfortable and the breakfast is just perfect for us. You can get coffee and tazo teas in the lobby any time and you will always be greeted with a friendly smile. Don't miss the breakfast patio with the lovely fountain just off the lobby, a nice relaxing spot on a sunny morning. There is a bit of traffic on Sunset Blvd. it was not a problem for us, and quieter than other hotels we have stayed in that are closer to the freeways in this area. I felt the rates were very reasonable for Brentwood and the great location of this charming motel!

This is a great boutique hotel property. After my first stay here a couple years ago, this is the first hotel I search when going out to LA. I'd say the secret is out since they continually get high reviews but the hotel has managed to keep up their reputation which is good. The staff is friendly and helpful and willing to help you figure out things to do if you are unfamiliar with the area.

The bathrooms are a little small and the parking lot is tight but those are pretty minor issues! We can't wait to stay here again.
