I love mohawk bend. It's "cool" - which usually means long waits - but spacious enough that it's fast

Can here to meet up with a friend that I haven't seen in a while. The restaurant is in the North/East Hollywood area, fairly close to downtown. On Sunset Blvd., but be aware the area is a little 'tough.' It's only as dangerous if you're not careful or acting stupid, but be aware it's definitely not Rodeo Drive. There's not that much street parking, but however there is valet available for five dollars.

The outside of the the place looks like an old movie theater, with old school lights and outdoor seating. To be honest, there's not much to see if you sit outdoors, and the tables aren't anything too special. However, the interior brings out a very unique perspective and a great place to experience. There are high ceilings and a 'long' interior. Walking in you'll see a 'tables' section first, followed by a bar area in the back. Plenty of TVs to go around, but not really a 'sports bar.' The atmosphere is a great mix of contemporary furniture and old school pub. There are a lot of little interesting fixtures that make the place fun to hang out at!

Although says it's a vegan restaurant, there is a few options for the carnivores in us. The offerings are unique, and I highly recommend the Buffalo Cauliflower (I know it sound a little weird, but I promise you that you won't regret it!). There's a great beer selection of unique offerings, but to be honest there wasn't anything too special, and in truth I've had better at other places. However that's a small complaint, as it's simply fun to taste what they have available!

The crowd is mostly a mixture of young professionals in their twenties and thirties. There was one middle aged couple with their kids with them, but to be honest it looked really out of place. Overall it's a great bar, and will become a staple that I hang out at whenever I'm in the area! Just be aware that getting there might be a little dicey.

P.S. You have to go 'upstairs' to go to the bathroom, not hard, just a little confusing.

Met up with an old friend while I was in LA and loved our catch-up time in the back over great beer. Cool spot!

Mohawk Bend is a wonderful restaurant/bar that I frequent weekly. Its main draw, in my opinion, is the top-notch all-California (and 1 monthly featured out-of-state brewery) craft beer selection. The food is above average, but not great. Also, the space is beautiful - a converted theater with modern finishes.

Enjoyed my meal at Mohawk Bend. The food was really tasty and the vibe was interesting. Some hipsters, some professionals, some foodies... They have valet parking - or you can brave the streets of Echo Park and try to find a spot.
