We stayed here since it is right by Hollywood Blvd and easy access to many tourist attractions. We did not mind the hotel renovations since we went on a Holiday weekend they where not even working so there was no noise.
Complaints would be: Our maid never once vacuumed our room. I purposely left crumbs on the floor to see if she would vacuum the next morning and no she didn't. For the hotel supposed to be newer there are many things in the rooms that show a lot of ware and tare. And the pool at night just turns into a giant party place with couples making out all over.
We rented a fridge and even having it on the lowest setting it froze everything we put in there which means it ruined the groceries we purchased such as milk and other beverages. So annoying.
There where many times where I almost didn't feel safe either. To get into the hotel during renovations you can access the "lobby area" from the shopping center. To get in NO key is required. I am fine with this during the day but after hours anyone can walk in. There was a sign posted that stated after 10pm you would need your key card to access the hotel but there was many times we came back after 10pm and the doors where still unlocked and we could just walk in. You can also access the pool area and 4th floor shopping plaza area without a key. This just makes me feel a little unease that any one can walk into the hotel or pool area. All of this should only be able to be access by a guest with a key in my opinion.
Pros would be the bed was amazing and very comfy!!!
