“Service was exemplory”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2013

The service we received at this Loews property was fantastic! We had rented a car while in town and the valet and bell staff were very attentive always calling us by name and generally very helpful. The front desk staff and pool staff were also very attentive. We did have room service the first night and found the food to be very good that was the only time we ate there at the hotel. Another thing I liked about the hotel was that our room overlooked Highland so we could see the Capitol Records building, the Griffith Observatory and even the Hollywood sign! This hotel is for those who like to be in the thick of it! It is close to all the tourist sites on Hollywood Blvd and the Hollywood Bowl is just up the street. There was a concert one night at the Hollywood Bowl and we could hear it from our room (no worries, it ended much earlier than bed time!) The location is great for access to the valley as well as Beverly Hills. While we were staying here they had already started renovations on the rooms above us so they are aware that at this price level the rooms need updating. A sad thing happened while staying here, there was a murder of a 23 year old woman a half a block south of the hotel (not on hotel grounds but at Hollywood Blvd and Highland). Three vagrants attacked her after she engaged them by taking their picture. While Hollywood is a great tourist area, it has traditionally not been considered a safe area. The hotel has a great security and I personally never felt unsafe at the property. Just be aware of your surroundings as every traveler should be.

This is a very well placed hotel. Staff very friendly. Room was very good but not modern. If you like real american doughnuts you have to go too the small eatery straight opposite the hotel. In here they do the best doughnuts and the breakfasts are very well priced and tasty.

We decided to stay at Loews as compared to Hilton because of the 4 star category and better location as compared to holiday inn or hilton and we were not disappointed.
Directly connected to the H&H center it is super convenient. Just a stroll down and you’re in the middle of hollywood blvd amongst the hustle and bustle. Really can’t beat the location.
The rooms were spacious, beautifully furnished and well maintained. No complaints at all.
The check in was a bit slow, we had arrived early at 130 pm and the lady at the check in counter was trying to give us both rooms together but wasn’t sure. After some convincing we were able to get hold of that and that seemed to be the only hiccup in the hotel.
The pool area was small but nice. Seemed to be crowded when we stayed in June mid week.
The breakfast was great and the female service staff at the breakfast very warm and friendly. Can’t say that for the males though.
Overall a great stay and would strongly recommend based on quality of rooms and location.
The price is not cheap but well worth it if you are looking for both of the above.

Hotel with nice rooms, comfortable beds and very conveniently located - close to Graumann's Chinese theatre, stop for the Hop on Hop off buses, Hollywood boulevard, walk of fame restaurants, shopping mall etc. We had a good view of the Hollywood sign from our rooms. Our gripe was that one of the two rooms that we had booked was available only at about 8pm. Check in at this hotel was at 4pm & we we were given one room at that time & told that the second would be available in a short while. We were repeatedly fobbed off - including being told at about 8pm that someone was on their way up with the keys to second room. 15 minutes later we had to go down to fetch the keys. I guess that this hotel was so busy that they could not provide what we expected after a long trip - a room available at about check in time. I would have otherwise given this hotel a 4 star rating.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a view of the Hollywood sign.

I had many expectations based on Tripadvisor reviews, but I was really disappointed. First of all I reserved a junior suite as it promised a Hollywood sign view, but as in other reviews I didn't get it. Then they charged me for the valet parking every day (38 usd per day!) even if I didn't use it and last but not least the room was not clean. And I also believe that they shouldn't price the old rooms like mine as the newly renovated. The only good thing is location. Oh, and in a two weeks vacation in California, it was the only hotel without a free wifi.

Thank you for the feedback on your recent stay.

We regret that we did not have the view type that you requested but are pleased to know you enjoyed the hotel's iconic location.

We have noted your preference for a view of the Hollywood sign.

For future visits please note that as an alternative to valet service we also offer self-parking at the adjacent H&H center for $10.00 per day.

Warm regards,
James Howald

We stayed in this hotel at the start of our trip around California. We had a room which had a view of the Hollywood sign. I couldn't help but stare out through the window to take in the view. The location is very convenient especially as we didn't have a car - it was on Hollywood Boulevard and next to the metro station. The pool was a good size and also overlooked the sign.

This hotel is perfectly situated for all of your LA needs. I stayed here for 5 days with my company that held a meeting here and then another 4 days for personal business. The staff is extremely accommodating and courteous. I had to last minute add on 4 additional nights and they made sure to work it out for me. The location is the best! It's attached to the Hollywood & Highland shopping center, which is in the middle of everything. The Chinese theatre, Jimmy Kimmel's studio is across the street, the walk of fame is right outside and I could go on and on. I was able to see the stars arriving for the green carpet for the Monsters University premiere which was across the street and Jerry Bruckheimer get his star on the Walk of Fame. The concierge has a list of things like this that are going on around town. The rooms are clean and modern. I had to change rooms because mine was being demolished for renovations. I'm not sure what they are doing, but they were pretty decent to begin with. It's my understanding that the lobby was getting ready to be demolished as I was leaving, so check before you arrive. That was my only issue- the construction noise. They warned me upon arrival, but it did become a bit bothersome. They said that the construction wouldn't start until 9am, but I heard hammering at 7am on Saturday morning. I called the front desk, they apologized and the hammering stopped. The food in the meeting rooms was average hotel food (I ate it for a week), but there are plenty of good options on the attached mall. Don't miss Crumbs cupcakes or the candy store- both amazing. If you are looking for a reasonably priced, high quality hotel that is in the center of it all- this is it. Location. Location. Location.
