“Very Good Overall”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2012

Great location in the heart of Beverly Hills/Hollywood. This hotel just changed from a Renaissance to a Loew's. The pool was very nice and reaxing and the gym was well equipped also. There are a ton of restauarants that are within alking distance as well. The rooms are somewhat small and the walls a bit thinner as we were woken up by young ones carrying on so hopefully you are not as unlucky as us or are a heavy sleeper. There was live music a few of the nights we were there and it was pretty darn good. The restaurant has a nice buffet breakfast as well. I was disappointd only in the noise aspect and also that I had to pay $20 for a small pack of Tylenol from the hotel. A bit ridiculous otherwise very good staff and location.

I marked this hotel down by 2 stars due to the following.... The charge for Internet is totally unacceptable in 2012 when it's free almost everywhere. The other reason I marked it down yet another star was they charged TWO lots of Internet for using it on an additional appliance, eg cell phone. To me, this is not excellent service, thus the 3 stars instead of 5

Good points... Best beds we slept in over 10 weeks. Totally unbelievably comfortable. Also... Great views of city and hollywood sign from floor 19

Loews Hollywood was centrally located to many places. You can walk to Grauman's Chinese Theater, The Dolby and The City Walk. It is a short drive, 4 miles, to Warner Brother's and The Hollywood Bowl, along with The Grove and The Farmer's Market. You are within 2 miles of most comedy clubs and about 10 miles from the beaches.
Service is impeccable and the rooms are spot on clean. I felt very safe in this hotel. The valet is expensive at $32.00 per day but in LA, parking is just a pain so at least I did not have to stress about parking at the end of the day. Also the hotel charges for internet sevice, $13.00 a day. Personally, a hotel of this caliber should never nickel and dime their customers with an internet charge! Aside from the valet and internet charge, I woud definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Higher floors have incredible views...south side views consist of LA, Culver City, Santa Monica and...

This hotel just recently changed to a Loews. It needs a little updating, but it was very nice. It is in the middle of everything in Hollywood. It was family friendly and the shopping area next door was excellent. Beds were comfortable and the service was good. Clean hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor.

Very nice hotel with unbeatable location.
Nice, clean room of high standard with eminent view. Had requested a room high up to get away from street noise and get a view and ended up on th 16th floor with excellent view of both downtown and the Hollywood sign.
Service was impeccable.
I used the valet parking (32 dollars a day). Costly, but very convenient.

The only negatives:
-the pool bar closes at 5 pm. way too early I think when you want to unwind after a long day of warm, touristy stuff
-internet access was an additional $13/day. This ought to be included free of charge in my opinion.

Withoput these two minuses in my book I would gladly have rated it as excellent (a five), but I would definately stay here again!

Room Tip: Did not use spa or eat breakfast at the hotel

Our trip to California started in LA and the Loews Hollywood, and it could not have started in a better way. Our taxi driver had some difficulty to find the hotel as he was unaware of the recent name change. However, once we were there everything worked as planned. The hotel had everything we expected in terms of amenities. The beds are out of this world (had problems waking my family every day), and the quality of the toiletries outstanding. Certainly, you can't beat the location, right in the heart of Hollywood. It is attached to a mall with nice restaurants, and stores, the Dolby Theatre and the Chinese Theater. The staff was corteous and efficient. Check in and check out was spot on. All in all, I highly recommend this hotel.

My husband and I stayed for one night at this hotel in June 2012.
We originally booked this hotel when it was a Marriott using points. When they switched to Loews we were told that our reservation would still be honored with the points, which was good to hear.

Upon arriving we had the choice of valet or self park at the public (mall parking) ramp attached to the hotel. We self parked for something like $9 per day, but no in and out privileges. We did go in an out and just handed over another $9, but it was still cheaper than the valet service.

The check in line was a few people deep when we arrived around noon and it was about 10 minutes from when we arrived at the hotel to when we actually checked in and our room was available right away.

Our hotel room was on the club level with a nice view of downtown LA and the Hollywood sign. The room was of average size as was the bathroom. The only downside was the bathroom where there were no towel racks and only one sink.

We also had club access from our prior status and reservation with Marriott. The club was on the small side, but rarely did we ever see anyone else in it. We were disappointed with the tiny/mini water bottles they had in the club rather than the normal sized ones. Breakfast in the lounge was ok, but nothing amazing. It was what we would expect from a club lounge breakfast.

This hotel is attached to the Loews (Kodak) theater and shopping mall. After a short walk through the mall, you’ll on the Hollywood strip with thousands of tourists and easy access to any Starline tours you might have booked. Overall, this hotel has the best location for easy Hollywood sightseeing.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the Hollywood Sign.
