We stayed there for memorial day weekend and truly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is super clean and has a great location. The bathroom is huge and the lighting is super girl friendly :)

Not to be confused with The Wilshire Hotel (it really was quite confusing), according to the proprietor this boutique hotel was incredibly new (opened in 2011?) and it definitely showed in a good way. Rooms were sizable and spanking, with good amenities for a decent price. Pool and restaurant were a little on the small side, and breakfast was forgettable. Location was quite good too, located in the middle of everything we originally wanted to do. I would return when visiting L.A. again.

+++:
Rooms: The room was very sizable, with separate living room and bedroom, and a very spacious bathroom in the center. The living room had a work area, of which I was grateful for, since I could do some work and talk on the phone without bothering my friend in the bedroom. Everything was new and in almost mint condition, including the over-sized couch, not-so-mini fridge, and the TVs. The room definitely made us spend more time inside it than we originally planned to.

Value: Parking was included, and I was very impressed with the rates offered, especially for such a nice room. Breakfast was not included though, but that was just a small boon. Free wifi too!

Location: Less than a 10 minute drive to Rodeo drive, and alternately a 10-15 minute drive to Koreatown, the location suited us well. Also, it was a walkable distance to LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art, of which I highly recommend), opposite a liquor store, dry cleaners and some restaurants, and also directly adjacent to an awesome sports bar.

---:
Facilities: Being a boutique, it lacked some facilities such as a gym, and the pool and adjoining restaurant were quite small, but supposedly were popular for drinks at night.

Service: I had no complaints about their valet parking staff, as they were professional and polite. However, the front desk staff, while helpful with questions or requests, were generally curt. They were not rude, just not very welcoming.

Breakfast: We only had breakfast at the rooftop restaurant once, and perhaps it was an off-day, but the food and coffee were quite sub-par. My friend ordered the breakfast lasagna, which could have fed an army, but tasted only so-so. My omelette was over-cooked and the ingredients did not taste very fresh.

The Wilshire is new, and the rooms are nicely done. I was excited about the rooftop bar. The views were great. Unfortunately the pool was really just for show. The service was average, and the food ordinary. The cocktails were fun and tasty though.
With the hotel food being average, go a few blocks to 3rd st. Some really nice deli's, cafe's and restaurants.

Dear Guest,

We will share your comments with our executive chef, Eric Greenspan, regarding our restaurant and service. Improving the guest experience is our top priority.

We are glad you enjoyed our hotel’s ambience and convenient location; which is in close proximity to many other dining options such as Third Street, La Cienega’ s Restaurant Row, Melrose Avenue, La Brea as well as Beverly Blvd. Our front desk can provide our guest’s with a current list of restaurant and entertainment suggestions.

Kind Regards and Safe Travels,

We stayed in the hotel as part of a business group and loved it. Coming over from Europe we were very tired. As we didn't have much time we wanted to enjoy LA and relax. We found the ideal location on the roof terrace, enjoying the views. If you are arriving and just want to relax, I would recommend eating there and I would make a reservation.
I love the fact that they have free wireless internet.
The staff was very helpful with calling a taxi or renting a car.
The bathroom was great, a bath for two, clean, modern, all the comfort you need, ...
I loved having the ability to make your own coffee and tea (the tea was delicious by the way).

Room Tip: When you are taking a taxi from the airport, mention the wilshire hotel near fairfax. There are more then one hotel with wilshire in its name.

The hotel itself is very nice and in a great location (not a ton of stuff directly near the hotel, but if you rent a car). If you were planning on visiting on the weekend and relaxing at the pool...think again. It was very crowded with people visiting the restaurant and we were the only ones laying out in our swim suits! Talk about a little awkward. The pool doesn't seem to be geared towards hotel guests, rather a local brunch place. We wanted to enjoy a mimosa by the pool and they are $22/piece because they were bottomless. Which adds to the party scene at lunch time on a Saturday there are a bunch of people drinking excessively and not swimming. We are a young couple and like to have fun...but being a hotel guest and expecting a relaxing afternoon at the pool, this was not it.

Maybe stop by for brunch if your in the area.

Dear Guest,

We have a popular pool scene, restaurant and bar at The Hotel Wilshire, particularly on weekends. With the approach of summer, we are in the process of purchasing additional chaise lounge chairs to better accommodate our guests desire to lounge and relax around the pool. We are continuously working with our restaurant to fine tune our food and beverage offerings and will take your suggestions into consideration. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts as we take all feedback seriously. I look forward to welcoming you back.
