Pleasant helpful staff. Good continental buffet breakfast included in price. Our 'executive One King Room' was the smallest room we stayed in on out US holiday but it was of an adequate size for two with 2 suitcases. Our room was on the ground floor but it was quiet and the bed was very comfortable, we had a good nights sleep both nights. Good air-conditioning in the room. Good shower over bath.

There is a convenience store nearby and about 2 blocks east of the hotel on Beverley Boulevard there is a laundrette which would be handy for any travellers needing this. The red route hop-on hop off bus has a stop a couple of blocks from the hotel for anyone using that. Also walking distance to Farmers Market and with a bit more effort LACMA and the tar pits.

There is a coffee maker in the room and herbal tea bags but, like most US hotels we stayed in, no milk provided and no black tea. However black tea is available at breakfast. Also free wi-fi and computers and use of printer available at no charge.

Dear Guest,
I am glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and that you found the staff to be pleasant and helpful. We offer several different room types at the Élan Hotel and would have been happy to upgrade you to our Jr. Suite which has a sitting area as well as a king size bed in the bedroom. Thanks for mentioning our amenities. I am glad that your stay was restful and comfortable as this is our ultimate goal. It seems like you were able to do some sightseeing while you were here. I hope that you had enough time to see or visit the attractions that you wanted to. Lastly, we do offer a variety of teas in the guest rooms as well as the breakfast buffet. Milk is not provided in the guest rooms because of expiration but we would have been more than happy to provide milk for you tea during your stay if we would have known. Thank you for your review. We appreciate your stay with us.

Kind Regards & Safe Travels,

Los Angeles is a really difficult place to decide where to stay in as a tourist. You can stay downtown, but quite frankly, it's a dive and I'd worry about my safety after dark. Hollywood and west Beverly Hills are a bit out the way. The location meant we were about an hour away from Union Station/ downtown / Dodgers Stadium (definitely worth seeing a game there if it's on!) and about an hour from Santa Monica beach on public transport. You're right next to a gas station if you're driving, a coin laundry about 7 blocks away and a Blooming Dales with a Macy's, shops and a loads of food places in the local area. A 24-hour pharmacy is also on the corner if you need anything.

The rooms were simple but high quality. All the amenities were there. Had BBC America which is a rarity and a treat for a British traveller! Great breakfast selection and the 5-7pm cheese and wine 'hour' is quite nice to stop by in.

Staff were very attentive, but not in an annoying way. We stayed in room 121 which is right next to the check-in desk but we slept soundly every night. Free wi-fi is available. Don't touch any food or drink in the room unless you want to pay extortionate prices for them.

Downside was the window. We had a nice patio door window, was a bit dark being on the ground floor, but you face about 7 other rooms in a tiny courtyard. Not great for privacy. We didn't really open the curtains the whole time we were there!

Not bad overall. LA is very expensive for normal quality, so the little touches like the cheese and wine time made it a bit more worthwhile.

Room Tip: If you get a choice try and go on levels 2 or above. Get some sunlight in your room

We spent 3 nights at this hotel in September and very impressed! Great location and the friendliest hotel staff you could wish for. Happy hour each evening was a plus and included breakfast was well presented and plenty of choice. Rooms clean and comfortable and excellent value for money. The staff were always available and offered heaps of advice on getting around LA. Would certainly recommend this hotel.

Dear Guest,

Thanks for mentioning the Élan Hotel staff. They are always eager to help all of our guests as they know that sometimes it is a challenge to know where to go and what to do in a limited amount of time. I am glad that you liked our amenities and that you found the room to be to your liking as well as a good value for the dollar. The title of your review says it all. Thanks again.

The hotel was easy enough to find, in a good location for exploring some of LA. The staff were helpful and informative when we had to ask any questions. Breakfast was fine and the rooms are comfortable and well appointed.

Didn't stay anywhere else in LA so can't really comment on value for money but I guess hotels in LA are not the cheapest so I think the price seemed ok.

This was our 2nd time at the elan and after booking this hotel i sent them an email requesting the same room i previously had. This request stated the dates i stayed and my details and was sent 5 months before my stay. The room i requested was in the back corner with its own private little courtyard or anywhere in the back section. When we arrived we were given a small room in the middle of the hotel with outside courtyard joining half a dozen rooms. When mentioned to staff this was not the room we booked they then moved us to a junior suite that was much larger. We thought this was great only problem it was facing the same courtyard with another 6 rooms.Could not open our curtains the whole 5 nites we were there and had no privacy.A reply to my email would have been nice as i have sent many requests in the past to various hotels and always got a response. This was the only issue as staff were friendly and helpful, rooms comfortable and good location.

Room Tip: Must get room at the back of hotel.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your review. It is from our customer feedback that we can improve upon service to our guests. It is unfortunate that we were not able to accommodate your request for a room in the location of the hotel that you preferred. Please understand that we are a 49-room hotel and it is sometimes difficult to accommodate room location requests based on our availability. For this I apologize. With that being said our courtyard is very quiet and peaceful and many of our guests enjoy the serenity. As you mentioned you were given a complimentary upgrade to a Jr. Suite on the 2nd floor. Thanks for mentioning our friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and good location. We appreciate your business and hope to see you in the near future. I would be happy to assist you with your next reservation if you would like to contact me directly. Thanks again.
