The painting collection is uneven but there are often interesting special exhibits. And the gardens and grounds are a delight to walk through. There is an excellent gift shop if you are looking for unusual souvenirs. The Getty is located high over LA with great views. There is an excellent gourmet restaurant where I paid dinner prices for lunch but ate a wonderful fish dish accompanied by one of my favorite CA wines. So I ate dinner for lunch with a fantastic view over the hills. Easy to get to with its own exit from the 405.

The art is amazing but so are the views of LA. I could sit outside or in the gardens for hours. The tram ride up is fun for kids. Lots of space - so you don't feel overwhelmed by people. I love this place.

When I go to the museum, I have learned how to make viewing the pieces interactive. For this visit, we had each person in our party find a sculpture to imitate and then we take a pic of them and that piece. Then we have something to really show and remember when we say that we went to a museum.

This was a museum with beautiful gardens, paintings, statues, furniture, and mosaics. It is located on a hill with breath-taking views. It is an amazing place with many exquisite pieces. You'll enjoy this, especially if you are into art and fine furniture.

You need to put this on your "bucket list". It is an amazing museum. If you can stand beautiful and amazing exhibits you should not go there.
