well the food is really good, i am giving them 2 stars because I literally had little insect in my salad and that was not cool. Worst they did not even comp the meal, but to their defence they did bring out macaroons to go which was ok.
So hopefully that was a fluke because otherwise this is definitely my go to place for breakfast during the week and lunch on weekend.

Arrived early for a SURPRISE dinner for a dear friend. I still don't understand why such a fine establishment would not to take reservations? My party of 17 had to sit at separate tables. Next to each other, which we waited over an hour to finally get. Nonetheless, still baffles me. Once seated, had divine service provided to us by Zac. He changed our evening entirely. If it weren't for him and his kindness, willingness to answer and recommend dishes to us, which were yummy, and serve us like we were the only people in the restaurant, I'm not sure my review would be a positive one. Pizzas are fresh and super yummy. All of them. Lol. Between our two tables we tried them all. Portobello fries came highly recommended by a friend so I had to have them. A little dry but still yummy. Modena salad was sooo good. Ask for the dressing on the salad or else you'll have to go swimming for the butter lettuce. However, great flavor combo. Beignets w/raspberry compote and Grand macaron were super yummy. Unfortunately the chocolate souffle exploded in the ovens...bummer. Maybe next time. If you don't mind the waiting and loud crowds, it's your place. Zac was a lifesaver 🍷

So fun to people watch, eat pricey but good colorful cookies, and terrific drinks.. after
theatre, after dinner, after visit to the Broad...
Its just so much fun, bustling like a big noisy NYC cafe full of interesting people, fashiony young women + their dates, just a who's who of downtown colorful people enjoying night life,
The open kitchen , the grand scale of the place, and the ambiance make this place a new institution that you should see and visit at least once.
The food is delicious, the service is fast ,impersonal but efficient.
Leave energized from the buzz of downtown LA life..

Loud place during lunch. The restaurant and cafe parts are adjacent. The food is good, with good pizza and small vegetable plates. The desserts looked beautiful but we were too full to try any :-(

I went here as I heard it was the best in downtown LA, so I came for way too much food, wine, and desserts.
