We took the dearly departed tour on the 10/12 with the superbly knowledgable Brian Donnelly and it was a highlight of our five week holiday in the USA. Brian is so knowledgeable and a really funny guy he makes the tour really enjoyable. Dearly Departeds tours are extremely well researched and accurate and you travel in a very comfortable mini bus. The history of Hollywood presented is fascinating. Dearly Departed also present very well.

We took a tour with another company where the info about Hollywood was wrong and the bus was very uncomfortable and dirty.

Do yourself a favor and go on a Dearly Departed tour. They're superb!!!

I just love Brian!! The Dearly Departed Tour was a great highlight to my vacation!! We got to see all kinds of places like Sunset Blvd and even celebs homes like Simon Cowell. I want to go on the tour again because it is never quite the same tour each time. It is not grusome or dark but very informative!! Brian is very entertaining and so much fun to talk to!! Do the tour!!! :)

Went with a few colleagues while in town. I grew up in the LA area, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but we thought we'd give something different a try. It turned out to be a very fun and interesting tour with Scott as our tour guide. The 14 passenger bus/van is air conditioned, comfortable, and clean. Lots of great fun facts and interesting stories along the way. The 2.5 hours was the perfect length of time for this tour. The tour stops halfway through to give everyone a chance to walk around and stretch and visit the restroom. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to do something other than the traditional tourist thing in LA.

I took the Helter Skelter tour with Scott Michaels. I had an amazing time on the tour and couldn't have asked for a better guide. Scott was very informative and witty and there was never a dull moment. If you tired of the old tours that visit celebrity homes, and are interested in the darker side of Hollywood you will surely enjoy this tour.

We went on this 2 1/2 hour tour of over 50 movie locations for my husband's birthday. The particular upbeat tour is not to be confused with the Helter Skelter and Tragical History tours.

Our friendly tour guide, Brian Donnelly, has vast knowlege of movies and hollywood trivia, so he was able to answer a variety of questions.

A lot of thought went into the tour as each location was shown on a large screen inside our 13 seat van, synchronizing our driving route through intersections, as if we were part of the scene. In most cases, we were able to park by the actual building. area or location for a clear, up-close, full view. The van is temperature controlled, air conditioned, has extremely comfortable seats, large windows on both sides and the tour can still operate regardless of weather conditions.

The company took the time to reseach the movie locations which are not on most tours in the Los Angeles and Hollywood areas. We looked at various architectural styles from different decades used in movies as establishing shots to set the mood, era and geographical area. The Happy Days house is in Los Angeles, not Milwaukee. Each location was unique and picturesque like the story book style houses used by Disney employees and later inspired their movie animation.

There is a scenic drive at Griffith park to the Observatory overlooking the Los Angeles basin. There was extra time to stop and take pictures throughout the tour. We had fun.

Dearly Departed is a small tour company, without a local office. The Hollywood Movie Tour is only available at 10:00 a.m. on Fridays, Saturday and Sundays, PROVIDED ENOUGH PEOPLE MAKE RESERVATIONS or you can sign-up for the waiting list.
