“Historic Landmark in Downtown Los Angeles”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2014

Remodeled and spacious. Big and beautiful. Plenty of computers to use. This library has been here for years. You name the book and you will find it here. I went there for tax books. You should take public transportation because downtown traffic and parking is terrible! But this place has it all. An L.A. treasure!

“Take the docent tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2014

The tour starts by the library store and it is worth taking it before you go to lunch. I believe it started at noon? Check their website. If this is your first time in LA, there are more interesting things to do, but for those of us looking for things to do in Los Angeles this is one of those seldom visited gems. It is free

“Wonderful building.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2014

We were made very welcome on our visit. it is well worth to spend an hour there. Great they did not knock the place down.
Some of the interior is superb. Easy to get to on the metro.

“Good in parts”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 8, 2014

It seems a bit churlish to criticise, but the ordinary parts of the building were a little dreary and reminiscent of institutions. They had low ceilings and bare walls which were screaming out for some art work. The rotunda was fascinating with very unusual colours. The light fitting was awesome. The rotunda is well worth seeing.

“Historic public space in downtown LA”

Spend a few minutes to walk around the facility inside and out. Historic architecture with a new indoor wing with an open atrium
