The MOCA lately went through some stormy times, but this is not what should be of any concerns as long it fulfills its main purpose: To present great Contemporary Artwork. Until January 2014 it mainly focuses on parts of its Permanent Collections, good to become familiar with the last decades not as exciting if you are keen to learn about new trends in the art world. This need is satisfied by looking at the temporary ( Until September) exhibition of Los Angeles based Artist RETNA, which was opened on April 21. His work is due to MOCA Director Jeffrey Deitch totally contemporary.
