The hotel is a renovated old motel. The owners have done a good job of fixing the place up but the rooms are still pretty basic and tacky. The floors are not in great condition and the bathrooms are very standard. I found check in and out to be perfect. Parking is 18$ a day. If you go to TART (the attached little restaurant) be prepared to pay $13 and up for a glass of wine during non-happy hour. During happy hour they have 5$ drink specials and a few appetizers. The service is slow and the waitresses are fairly condescending and snooty. I would never stay here again unless I was visiting the Studio.

You stay here for the location and the price. Rooms are very nice and the size you would expect in a big city. The attached restaurant and bar, Tart, is wonderful, but it does close fairly early. The staff is top flight. If you need a 21st century luxury spa, this is not the place. For a solid value, clean room, great staff and amazing restaurant in the heart of West Hollywood, there is no equal.

Stayed at the Farmers Daughter for four nights with two friends. The location was ideal for us as we were sightseeing and wanted to visit Hollywood, Santa Monica, Universal Studio's etc. It is located opposite the Grove which provided plenty of local dining options for Breakfast and Dinner, all of which we enjoyed. We found the people on the front desk engaging and helpful. Our friends had an unpleasant experience with a noisy guest in an adjacent room one night (I would not hold the hotel responsible for rude and inconsiderate guests) and when they reported this there were apologies and offer of a free breakfast. When booking this hotel just be aware that it is essentially a Motel albeit with a quirky makeover. The room was clean and comfortable but there is limited storage if staying for an extended period and whilst traffic noise is present it was not over intrusive. Overall the hotel was adequate for our needs and was reasonably priced for the area.

We had one night at this hotel which, I must say, is quite different from other places we have stayed. My initial impression was 'oh dear' but that changed very quickly and I ended up thoroughly enjoying the stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the cafe was just great. You have to sample the cornbread muffins with honey butter - absolutely delicious! Our room was comfy and we enjoyed visiting the farmer's market across the street. All in all a great place to stay.

Very friendly staff and comfortable room. Located across the road from The Grove and close to other great stores like Trader Joes and Whole Foods. The TART restaurant on site has great cocktails! The bus that travels along Fairfax will take you to Hollywood Boulevard, Glendale Galleria or Pasadena.

Room Tip: Our room in the main block had a great view of the 'Hollywood' sign.

I will pick a small, quirky hotel over a Marriott any day, and Farmer's Daughter did not disappoint! The decor was adorable and the location was amazing (Trade Joe's and Whole Foods is literally a 5 minute walk from this place, not to mention The Grove is literally across the street). The room was cute, and comfortable (extra points for the mini fridge!). The only thing I would say is that the 2 different front desk agents were less than interested in making small talk or even making us feel welcomed. That was a disappointment. But the location and cost would make it a 'must stay there again' motel. Oh, and this is a motel and a damn cute one.

Kids loved the pool. Room was comfortable - fitted the 5 of us easily with the couch and the roll away bed. Décor was creative and quirky which we loved. Great location next to shops and supermarket (Trader Joes)
