“Just a stop over kind of place”

When you think of the hotel brand Westin you think nice quality, a bit on the flashy side....
Rooms are hit or miss on quality of cleanliness, the staff is very friendly which helps you look past the uncleanliness of the rooms. Now let me tell you the rooms are very tidy, just not overly 'clean'.

When you check-in the staff is very nice and provide you offers of no daily room cleaning in exchange for $5.00 to be used in the hotel, so easy all you need to do is put a little card on your door by 11pm. The problem is its not consistent on when you get paid, sometimes its daily and sometimes its the day you check out, making your $5.00 trash.

Whats good? The Food... Absolutely delicious.
Everything else? inconsistent at best.
Convenience factor fantastic, and suits my purpose for business stay but I wouldnt pick this hotel for a personal trip.

Room Tip: Opt for the Executive King... more space

Came and stayed here for two nights to attend a conference held in the hotel's ballroom. We didnt need a car and the hotel provided a FREE shuttle pick up and drop off to and from the LAX. Comfort of the room met our needs- we asked for a higher floor and insisted on the street facing side instead of the airport facing- or else you will hear the planes take off at night!
The food facilities were good! If you choose not to spend on expensive cab rides after your conventions or meetings, ask the concierge for the local trolley, its five dollars round trip and will take you to Manhattan Beach. Well worth the visit!
I would not suggest walking around the area at night!
This location is far from the local Los Angeles sights - use it if you're in and out of LAX! Met our short term hotel needs!

We stayed 4 nights at the Westin LAX and really enjoyed the hotel. Very clean, upbeat lobby, convenient self-parking. Here are some notes:
*We were able to check-in early, HUGE plus when traveling to be able to quickly refresh.
*We were given a discount on parking because we were staying for multiple days. The parking was very easy to get in and out of, and we always found parking quickly.
* The staff was very nice, we ordered breakfast one morning, and it was AMAZING.

The only thing keeping this hotel from 5/5?? There was NOT free Wi-Fi in the rooms. My husband put it best, I would like Wi-Fi over CABLE these days! There is free Wi-Fi in the lobby.

I stayed one night - yesterday.

The shuttle from the airport was prompt. Arriving at the hotel was a disaster.

The lobby was full of approx. 250 women checking in for a conference, and the front desk was completely understaffed. I shoved my way thru to the SPG Gold area and checked in. I was not offered an upgrade.

Got to the room, excited to decompress before the final flight home - and walked in to a room that stank of mildew. It was a warm day and the AC wasn't on. So I turned it on, and it also stank of mildew.

I was faced with Sophie's Choice - endure the mildew smell or go back to the lobby full of screaming people trying to check in. I stayed in the room. I rubbed my deodorant all over the AC vent to get some of the smell out. Eventually I became numb to it.

The bathoom was dirty. There was hair on the bed. And the room hadn't had a good dusting in a very long time.

Couple of other things. First, a lot of the reviews here say it it's surprisingly quiet, given how close it is to the runways at LAX. False. You can hear the planes all night. (Now - I knew that might be the case, given the location - but just so you know...)

Second, the room was beaten up badly. The couch had a ditch in it. As did the bed. The doors were scraped. The air vents weren't clean. I get that it's an airport hotel, but you're SPG for God's sake - take care of the property. If you see wear and tear, fix it.

The best? I checked out super early, figuring the airport would be a cleaner place to wait for my flight FOR FOUR HOURS. When I told the desk clerk about the room, he just stared blankly at me.

NEVER AGAIN. And there are SO many hotels near LAX, please don't make the same mistake I did.

Conveniently close to the airport, made even easier by the courtesy shuttle. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable. We were on the airport side, so got a little bit of noise from that - enough to notice when you were awake, but not enough to disturb us in any way. Would definitely return.

I needed a central hotel as I was all over LA and OC this trip.
The upside: good price
Nice big room, clean, comfy linens and bed, well appointed room and bathroom, Starbucks coffee and Tazo tea, Mini bar.
Pool ok for short laps.
I like the Self parking as an option.
Daily grill on site, good but pricey.
Express Starbucks on Site.
Great Staff.

Downside- not a safe area, can not walk anywhere. Room service expensive.

Yes I will stay here again

Would thoroughly recommend this hotel for a stop over. Check in staff were lovely and efficient. Rooms were spacious with heavenly beds. Room and bathroom very clean. Close to the airport, plus hotel has a convenient airport shuttle.
