“Overhyped”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

A pizza place that serves some schnitzel & sausages and a handful of German beers. Pales in comparison to a real German place such as Brats Bros. in Studio City, the Red Lion in Silver Lake or the Wirtshaus on La Brea.

“Memories of Germany”
Reviewed September 27, 2012

Visited the Chalet with friends, one of whom was from Germany - the hostess speaks German so we felt like "natives!" Great sausage, including hard to find Weisswurst, absolutely delicious. Good service, nice beer and wine selection, and an excellent location with plenty of parking in the rear.

“Great Food.”
Reviewed September 12, 2012 via mobile

Within walking distance of a few Holiday Inns and nearby LAX.
Arrived on a Wednesday evening for dinner. Restaruant was full with movie and dinner guests.
Managed to find us a table and service was very good. Drinks and food arrived promptly and was very good.
Alpine platter had 4 different nears and 4 cheeses, pretzel pickles as well.
I had the snitzel with red cabbage and enjoyed it.
Ended the meal with an Apfelstrudel and ice cream.

Despite being full with customers everyone had drinks and food coming to their tables.

Enjoyed the meal.

“Really good German food close to LAX...”
Reviewed May 15, 2012

While not the perfect experience, Chalet Edelweiss exceeded expectations this Tuesday evening on a brief layover enroute to Southeast Asia.

We were meeting some friends from LA, and wanted a place within close proximity to where we are staying near the airport. Four stars on Yelp (the best reviewed options available) meant this restaurant or a Thai restaurant a similar distance away.

We were expecting decent, but not the heaping plates of German goodness that were delivered. Quality, gourmet, delicious.

They lose one star for fairly impersonal service (though admittedly we shut them down, and it is a Tuesday).

But seriously, despite the three pounds we each gained tonight, we'd definitely suggest this restaurant to fellow travelers.
