“Scenic view of Los Angeles”
Reviewed February 5, 2014

I would definitely recommend someone to go there if you are in the LA area. I recommend to go early in order to get a good parking spot and not have to deal with crowds. There is so much to do there. You can go inside the observatory and spend at least an hour there. You can also go outside and enjoy the view of all of Los Angeles. There are telescopes to help you see better. If you have time and are feeling like a hike, there are many trails for you to go hiking on and enjoy nature. You also can get an even higher and better view of the city.

“So much more than a nice view from the top!”
Reviewed February 3, 2014 via mobile

The drive to Griffith is a wonderful drive through Griffith Park which is nice and itself. Parking is fairly abundant. I have been going up to Griffith every time I go to LA just to look out over the hills and had never been into the museum, shame on me! Really nice little gift shop. Top-notch exhibits. You could spend an entire afternoon just exploring around the observatory. One of the top five must sees in the Los Angeles area.

“Could have been perfect...”
Reviewed February 1, 2014

Spectacular views of the entire L.A area. The only issue was we went at sunset on a Saturday afternoon which isn't the best idea unless you enjoy sharing very limited parking with the rest of the Los Angeles population. Incredible museum at the observatory if you are a science buff as well.

“One of a kind view at the star party!”
Reviewed January 31, 2014

The Griffith Observatory is one of the most impressive free attractions Los Angeles as to offer. It has something to offer for everyone. The drive or walk to the observatory is even great. The view of LA at sunset is breathtaking and the museum is interactive and up-to-date with the best space-science has to offer. If you want to see the planetarium you must also plan ahead to reserve tickets. Free to the public and open late, the observatory is an LA evening must.

Be sure to plan ahead because weekend/holiday evenings can get very busy especially when there is a star party where locals bring their own telescopes and share with the community. It was incredible to see everyone together exploring the stars and enjoying a birds eye view of the city.

“Good place to visit”
Reviewed January 30, 2014

Family friendly place, good view of La. Good place to visit. Getting there was relatively easy and parking was not much of a problem.
