Worth visiting. Renovated a few years back, great displays and lovely space. I would not eat here though. Bring a picnic and eat outside on a nice day. Great views of LA too from the exterior.

Besides being a must see place on the list for any James Dean fan as "Rebel Without A Cause" was filmed at the observatory, it has beautiful views of the Hollywood sign and the L.A. area. There are hiking trails around the observatory we saw people going on. It's a nice place to get a way from all the hustle and bustle of city life.

It was fun and free! You could see the city & the Hollywood sign very good. You could also take great pics in front of the sign. The planetarium was fin for my daughter and me.

the view...most of all.
But everything was really interesting to see..and admire.
Inside the observatory you can learn about earth movement and stars view. Outside you can admire the valley at 360°. a breathtaking view of downtown and of hollywood with its legendary inscription on the hill.

Hiking trails, beautiful area with park. Great views of Los Angeles and the Hollywood sign. Pack some water and snacks and make a morning or afternoon of it. Going back for sunset.
