We've stayed here several times in the past few years while attending The People's Choice Awards, MusiCares and the American Music Awards at the Nokia Theater, and the Convention Center - both are very close. The Grammy museum is just around the corner, and there are lots of great restaurants within 2 blocks of the hotel. The hotel is attached to the Ritz Carlton which has a wonderful spa and well equipped and immaculate work out facility. The rooms are clean, comfortable and have nice large bathrooms. They have all the ammenities, safe, coffee pot, robes, ironing board/iron etc. Although it is in the middle of a very busy area in terms of night life we found it quiet. The restaurant in the hotel has a wonderful breakfast buffet and there is a coffee shop in the hotel and a Starbucks just out the back door. We will definitely stay again.

Room Tip: We have stayed multiple times and never had a bad room.

I really liked this hotel. Every time I had a need, it was met. The standard room was nice and big with just the right amount of furniture, big TV, comfortable bedding. Bathroom was quite big and the nice big shower magically didn't steam up the whole place, I really appreciated that. I liked that the lobby was busy, a place that people really used. I didn't find the lobby bar super-welcoming to me (a single, female, non-young/ non-fabulous person) but was certainly adequate in terms of service. The desk staff was extremely efficient and very welcoming. The meeting facilities and food at the meeting were nice and bit different from the usual (trail mix bar, for example).

I had the pleasure of staying at the JW MARRIOTT for an evening~ The hotel was amazing, great atmosphere throughout the lobby~ granted, the Lakers were playing that night, and the hotel was buzzing with people~ Our room was on the 18th floor, and it was luxurious~ all amenities, comfortable beds and fabulous restroom~ I would recommend anyone to stay here~ you have all eateries outside your door~ even a Movie theater. The only thing to watch out for is 'parking', please be sure you valet your car with the hotel~ we accidentally park in a parking structer behind the hotel, and we paid $25 for only 3 hours parkings, came back that evening and paid $40.00 with hotel. Had we just Valet first, it would only had been $40.00 for 24 hours. You can come and go as you please~

I am a very hard person to please when it comes to hotels. Read my other reviews.

I had a room that overlooked LA Live. So here are my reasons for the 5 rating!!

1 - Excellent service. I live in LA, and trust me, to find nice people that are so accommodating, is hard. They have done an excellent job of finding a great staff.
1 - CLEAN - When you walk in, it's clean enough to walk on the carpet without your shoes on. I know, a rare thought in a hotel room. But it's kept clean to a very high standard, and you do have that comfort level.
1 - Ultra modern. Very modern furnishing, and all still appear to be in good condition and new.
1 - Bed - the bed is so comfortable. It's almost as nice as the heavenly bed that the Westin group uses.
1 - General overall satisfaction.

Room Tip: Pay a bit more and get a suite. The view is better.

This hotel is centrally located and walking distance to multiple restaurants and entertainment locations. My room had a great view of the pool and the Staples Center. I also utilized the gym, which being a regular traveler I see plenty, was well laid out and supplied with everything one would need. The staff was great and handled my 950 coworkers taking over their hotel very well. The meals planned for us were great and always fresh. The hotel was also laid out in a manner that allowed us to take over the hotel without disrupting the other guests.

This is a typical Marriott product with a great location in LA. Breakfast in LA Market was mediocre and somewhat expensive for what you received. The noise level when concerts are happening is the greatest drawback of this property - I was on a high floor and I could hear the music until 11 p.m., which is not good when it's a weeknight and you just want to sleep early. The front desk clerk I spoke to upon checkout expressed regret that I didn't call her and get the free earplugs. ;-)

the JW is the place to stay if you are doing anything at Staples Center or Nokia Theater. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance. Rooms are comfortable; staff is really pleasant and helpful. Now if they could just fix up the rest of downtown LA...

Would have given them an excellent but internet access was 12.95 a day and very sketchy.

Room Tip: ask for a high floor and be sure to shut the black out curtains... it is a bit like Times Square out...
