I am very interested in the world of film and I did the VIP tour of Paramount. I LOVED it! I leaned so much! It was four and a half hours- we got to visit a film archive center, see costumes- old to recent, and I even saw someone famous! Overall the tour was so good!

We went on an afternoon tour and found the parking lot easily enough opposite the main entrance to the Melrose Gate ($10 to park there). Most of our tour arrived 30 minutes early as requested and we waited at the gift store for the other 2 people. The gift store only has Paramount goodies, nothing from the shows that are being shot there - mores the pity.
Our tour guide Daniel was amusing and knowledgable, and drove the 7 of us round on an interesting ride back into history. At the theatre, we inadvertently walked in on a rush from the day before!
There is a lot of history at this studio and it was great to hear so much about the movies. The sets we were taken round were TV sets of Happy Endings, both sound stage and they were filming on the New York back lot. I was disappointed not to get any Glee action and I knew they were filming that day as I had read Lea Michele's Twitter account!
Paramount is a third of the size of Warner Brothers, and on the 2 hour tour we didn't get to see things like the props department or the museum like we saw at Warner Brothers. But it is a great Hollywood experience and well worth not having to shlep out to Burbank!

We had a great time at the paramount studio tour. The 100 years of movie making magic was a privilege to observe and witness.

The tour is about 2 hours and is probably half walk and half in a buggy.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and we liked it that they were relatively lax with the photos, other than of any celebrities we met (only the back of Lea Michele) and on a set. Our guide was also very good in pointing out nice photo ops and ready to take photos for us. A good pointer, at the very end of the tour, there is a great view and photo op of the Hollywood sign!

We enjoyed this!

We purchased the 2 hour Paramount Studio and were greeted by our guide upon arrival. For any movie or tv show buff, I recommend doing the tour. It was interesting to view the Paramount grounds and hear the stories of movies which have used different areas for filming. We visited the sets of Happy Endings and got to walk around in the apartments which was fun. We were escorted around on golf carts and got to peep into different studios. We learned a few tricks of the trade and I also saw Lea Michelle and another actress from Glee in passing. Unfortunately we weren't able to view other sets as they were in production that day. Due to this, our tour was short and not the full 2 hours. I did enjoy the tour. On the plane back to Aus I watched the movie No Strings Attached and could see places I had visited on the tour in the movie which was fun.

This 4 hour in depth tour was awesome. Our tour guide, Kenny, was great and very knowledgeable about Paramount and the productions that were taking place on the lot. This tour showed us a lot of behind the scenes access that isn’t shown on the regular tour. We had exclusive access to buildings such as the paint shop, sound effects, and where sets are built and signs are made for television shows. All of the employees greeted us and were friendly. We also had access to the props and wardrobe building which was a memorable part of the tour. If you are around during the time shows are being filmed you may even catch a glimpse of a celebrity or two. Angie Harmon from Rizzoli and Isles waved at us as we passed by! Our gourmet lunch was terrific and included in the overall price. This lunch is not provided in the shorter version of the tour. Our beautiful table was set up on the lawn in from of the famous Paramount entrance, and a director (cannot remember his name) joined us for lunch to discuss the ‘business’. Some of our favourite highlights of this tour included the “Glee” stuff – the coffee/gift shop we were in is the Lima Bean, and we walked by the dining hall used for Breadstix. We had access to the Big Bang Theory Soundstage. We saw the Hollywood sign and the Old Hollywood charm is ever present at this studio. The hand written card from Kenny with our photo taken in front of the Paramount sign was a nice touch at the end of the tour. The gift shop is not so great. This will be a long day, but we could have gone longer. There is so much to see. We highly recommend this 4 hour tour!
