Not often you find good dining in a shopping mall, but this one is near perfect in every way. So May tasty dishes to chose and the food is just brilliant. Serving staff couldn't be more helpful, well done. So if you are in the area, and want a good place to go.. Here it is..

Just loved everything about this place! Food was exceptional. Drinks were great. Never had anything like it! My server CJ was great. One of the best things about living LA! I had to sign up for Tripadvisor so everyone should know to come here.

LA is a city that often reveals itself best when you're passing through, and not there for several days and on a stressful mission. Rock Sugar is one of those places that fits precisely into that sort of itinerary.

The whole experience had a continuity, a timing...perhaps, a rhythm...that is seldom found. Gene & Georgetti's "has it." Ditto for Peter Lugar's. And so does Rock Sugar.

Rock Sugar came onto my radar screen based on a recommendation from one of the Delta Air Lines' managers at LAX. I had one of those deliberately-constructed 15-hour lay-overs that can take the sting out of US-Southeast Asia travel. For those to work properly, there cannot be any glitches, delays, or kerfluffles with hotels, restaurants or limo transportation.

There were 5 folks in my party so we decided to order 14 items and share. The waiters (two were assigned) organized the platings and timed the deliveries so the meal flowed from appetizers, to soup, to spicy entrees, and beyond. That sort of guest service management takes a genetic level skill and professionalism.

This was my first visit to Rock Sugar, but the place was filled with "regulars" who seemingly had expert "locals' knowledge" about where to dine. The main attractions are menu diversity, and skilled service. Not for the budget conscious. However, it you've devoted $5,500 for Business Elite airline seats, Rock Sugar's tariff will be lost in the rounding.

Rock Sugar is the whole package - cool ambience, delicious food, and great service. It is what I would class as fine dining, which is reflected in the prices, but it is totally worth it.
