This museum is in dire need of some funding. I would not recommend taking the trip here if you are from out of town. There are many better sights to see in LA.

Educational, interactive, fun and for all ages. This place is HUGE!!! There is so much to do for all ages. They will be engaged for hours while they are actually learning things. The aquarium is 2 story and absoluely beautiful! AND it is all Free!!!! They have a McDonalds/Taco Bell and a Rose Cafe (healthier food) on the 1st floor. There is simply soooo much to do there. Parking is $10. That is your only expense unless you choose to donate in one of their boxes as you ascend their escalator to the Museum. Their IMAX is awesome too :))

When I saw the Cleopatra exhibition was at the science center, we decided to go. I purchased a membership for the two of us, and got a significant discount on the exhibition as a result. The exhibition was not quite as impressive as the King Tut at the LACMA, however it was clearly a close second. And there was no wait. There was an audio tour free with admission. There were nice postings. I really really liked that you could see the item on display, and on the wall you could see the item in the ocean before it was raised. The items displayed were interesting. Sometimes I get a little bored - like WHAT IS THIS and WHY would anyone want to look at it. Not so with this exhibition. I thought the stuff was very interesting. We saw the Egypt IMAX movie with our membership tickets. Really liked it. I understand now how the pyramids were really built. Decided to see a second IMAX movie, about Polar Bears, and they were SO CUTE. It was also a nice movie for people of all ages. And was also included with membership. Parking is free with membership, and you get a second parking ticket for a return trip, where of course we will go see the shuttle. We also rode the bike high above the facility and that was also included with membership. It looked scary but it wasn't. It felt good to support our local science center. The facility is beautiful. There are many other exhibits, and we saw some but there was no need to push ourselves, because you can go back at no charge, and we plan to do so. There is a McDonalds and Taco Bell and you get a discount if you are a member.

I 've been to such a place in Sweden, called UNIVERSIUM. Also the San jose Techshow museum. But it is more useful and full of clues which guide everybody towards science and technology.
The atmosphere and staff behavior are friendly and you and your children can see many sort of scientific experience.
1- The environmental concern will transmit to us
2- The steps of space conquest is in front of our eyes, the Apollo is so interesting
3- Earthquake and other natural disaster are made sensible
and so on
lets go there and enjoy during leaning and experience. specially with children
it is free except the parking lot

This is a superb experience with many of the exhibits being interactive.
The staff are extremely friendly and informative. It will be enhanced further when the Shuttle arrives.
The directions on Trip advisor need updating as it's now easy to get to on the Expo Metro line.
