My daughter and I selected this hotel for a recent trip to attend an Open House at Musicians Institue. From the moment we arrived, I knew we were in for a treat. The lobby is very classy and inviting. We arrived a few hours before check-in and the staff graciously offered to keep our luggage while we went to lunch. Our room was beautiful and very clean. The pool and fitness room were awesome. We had no trouble with internet in our room and it was so helpful to have the computers and printer in the business center so I could print our boarding passes and arrange the shuttle ride to LAX. Breakfast was a real treat and everything was delicious (Marieta keeps this area running so smoothly and she is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet!). EVERYONE who worked here (including cleaning staff and valet) was super helpful and friendly. I was especially impressed with Armando, Anthony, and Bailey at the front desk. If you get to meet Corey, the manager, you are very fortunate. I had the pleasure of talking with him on the phone before we arrived and met him in person when we were checking in. He is the most customer service oriented manager I have ever met and a very handsome and gracious host. I will definitely stay here everytime I visit Hollywood.

We spent 4 nights in July (11-15) at the Holiday Inn Express and were very satisfied with the hotel and especially the room. I asked for a quite room and was given room 607 which was very spacious, clean and nice looking. The only thing we did not like much was having to change elevators at the 5th floor in order to take the elevator to the 6th. The bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, etc. Flat screen TV, electronic safe, big walking closet, coffee and tea facilities, etc. The Breakfast Room on the 4th floor near the pool was a self-service room. There was only a lady refilling the food supplies and there were also local newspapers available for you to read during breakfast. Coffee was not very strong for my taste but I knew coffee is usually quite weak in the USA.
The staff at the reception were OK. There was one lady who was really nice and helpful and the others were just trying to do their Reception work. The guys at the parking very nice and helpful. One thing I did not like on the day of our departure from the hotel is that when I asked the lady (Monica) at the Reception about the possibility of booking a shuttle to the airport, she told me that I was supposed to reserve the shuttle the night before so I did not insist. Later on when we came back to the room, I called Super Shuttle and they booked us for the same afternoon to go to the airport so before leaving the hotel I mentioned to her that it could be possible to book the shuttle the same day of departure.
Otherwise the location is great. You are about 3 blocks from Hollywood Boulevard Walk of Fame and the metro station that takes you to Universal Studios (one stop only). Since we did not want to rent a car, we took a tour of LA. I realised that taking taxis to the different sites we wanted to visit was going to be costly and since LA is such a big city, we would have not been able to see all we wanted to see in those 4 days. We really enjoyed Universal Studios but it was really hot there! as the San Fernando Valley is always a few grades hotter than LA city.

My decision to stay in this Hollywood Holiday Inn Express hotel was based on the reviews that i read from this site, and what a really pleasant stay my friend and I had! I have always been a bit wary of Holiday Inn hotels, mainly bcos of the impression I have of this chain being a mid standard hotel. But boy, was I pleasantly surprised!! Not only was the location of this hotel fantastic (a 10 minute walk from the Hollywood and Highland shopping centre, Graumann's Chinese Theatre, etc), but the rooms and facilities were clean and NEW! We could choose between soft and firm pillows, the bed mattresses were excellent, and we got a little weather card daily to tell us what the temperature would be!

We had a tough time deciding between this hotel and the Hollywood Hills Hotel (HHH) right next door, partly bcos the latter hotel has a beautiful website. So we decided to check their neighbour out, and we were happy to say that we made the right decision to choose Holiday Inn Express!!

For a decent, not-too-many frills (basic but clean dining room, small trendy lobby, plain modest entrance) stay in Hollywood, this hotel is it!!

It's higher priced than most HI Expresses, but the location couldn't be any better. We stayed here one night to go to a show at the Hollywood Bowl--which was a phenomenal experience. This hotel is nearer than many parking lots to the Bowl, but it's still quite a walk if you have mobility issues. The friendly valet called us a cab, which was about $5 to the Bowl entrance. After the show, we just walked back to the hotel. It's about half a mile. Just south of the hotel is the touristy part of Hollywood Boulevard, and that was fun to see. It was all it up like Las Vegas, and there were lots of tourists.

Everyone at this hotel was very friendly, but the valets were super. Parking is $22/night, I think. You self-bus with valet carts provided at the parking valet. The free breakfast includes eggs and bacon and is very good. The pool is small and outdoors, and there is no jacuzzi. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and we had a nice view of the Hollywood Hills. There is no hotel restaurant, but the front desk offered many takeout menus. We ordered from the Indian place, and it was great. I recommend the tandoori chicken salad.

I can't find any fault with this hotel other than a small pool, having to take multiple elevators, and the high total cost. But we knew we were paying for location. It was worth it.

Stayed at Holiday inn express 2 nights in july. It may be close too "walk of fame" and Universal and the hotel has got many good rewiews from other who have stayed her, but we where not satisfied. Awerall no problems but many small problems that not should been on a hotel like this make the rewievs not satisfied. For exampel had we problems with our door, we had booked for 5 persons but didnt get any bethclose for the sofasleeper. The ramp too the parking on floor 2 is wrongdimensioned for many cars so you "bump in" with the front of your car. We got home late from Universal one day and there's was no parking left for us, the hotel had rent out all places to people visiting Hollywood bowl. Also the smell on our floor (probebly something from the pool) is almoust disguisting. And the internet did not reach our room. No, overall not as good as expected.

Probably the best holiday express I have stayed in. The location couldn't be faulted - just 5 mins walk (if that) to Graumans Chinese theatre etc from where you can explore LA. There is also a few stores just across the road.

Hotel seemed brand new, clean and spacious. Asked for a quiet room and didn't hear a thing. Pool looked good, but we were there only 3 days and there's too much in LA to sit around a pool all day. Breakfast clean and fully stocked all the time - standard holiday inn contiental style breakfast - just enough to start the day. Would defo stay here again

Hotel is only one year old, so still in great condition. Front desk staff friendly throughout stay. Received two rooms as reserved. One room had view of wall directly in front of window, so requested room with city view and received it immediately at no additional charge. Rooms clean and decently sized with desk, big chair, large TV, fridge. Bathrooms clean with standard cinnamon scented amenities. Wireless worked in one room but not the other. Hotel provided us with ethernet cable during stay. Parking an additional cost but worth it because safe and connected to hotel elevators. Area has large amount of traffic and with events at Hollywood Bowl would have made finding our own parking incredibly frustrating. Stayed three nights and location was perfect for our L.A. visit. Breakfast was standard HI Express fare and tasty. Seating is limited given size of hotel. Get there early if you don't want to miss the cinnamon rolls. Pool and weight room. Tried all-in-one machine for weight lifting, kinda confusing but okay. Sister liked elliptical. Laundry machines satisfactory. Halls can kind of wind around, especially above 5th floor but not too bad once you learn your way. Area ideas include: The Hideout, inside the Hollywood Heights Hotel, is just a few doors down from HI Express. Went for dinner, service and food was excellent - try the sweet potato fries. The mini strip mall across from the HI Express has a decent Subway (with fresh avocado) and a small grocery with a Pizza Bella pizzeria inside - these are above average options for late night noshing - take food to your room though. Another pizza place in the neighborhood is just off Hollywood,at Yucca and Ivar, called Village Pizzeria. This serious NYC 'za is awesome. Create your own slice and save room for the italian ices. Finally, if you're a make-up junkie like me, there is a Sephora just a few blocks walking distance within the enormous open air mall along the walk of fame called the Hollywood & Highland Center. Highly recommend this hotel, I would definitely stay again.
