We stayed in a family room for 7 nights during a recent trip to LA. I had initially booked a hotel in downtown LA but was very glad I changed it. The hotel is clean, has comfortable beds and the staff are excellent (specially the breakfast lady and Omar). The room was big enough to accommodate a family of 5; however, we had to pay extra for a rollaway bed. The breakfast area does get pretty busy but it's not a big problem and you can always take it to your room if necessary. The choice of food was not much different to HiExpress hotels in the UK. TV in the room was up to date and had a good choice of channels.

Our room faced the main road and the traffic noise was audible throughout the night so bear this in mind if you're a light sleeper. Regarding the traffic, it can be a little tricky getting in and out of the hotel but it was better than I had expected. It's $22 to park per night (valet only) but you can come and go as you please without paying any more.

A lot of the attractions are close by easy to get to. We took the metro (one stop) for Universal studios others (e.g. Hollywood walk of fame, Dolby theatre etc) are within walking distance.

Our room had a fridge and microwave but no utensils. There are loads of shops and restaurants nearby. If you want a Tesco metro type shop, there Fresh & Easy on Hollywood Blvd. Not sure how long it will be there for as these are due to close. For anyone wanting Halal food, I noticed a small kebab place if you turn left on Hollywood Blvd.

There is a pool and a small gym but we didn't have time to use. On the whole… a great hotel in a great location.

Had a great 5 day stay, free breakfast each day, plenty food just had to time it right as the room is quite small and can get quickly crowded, but over all excellent, wifi access was excellent and easy to use, free business centre quite amazing printing even free. This hotel is in an amazing location with all over fantastic value, very clean and the staff are very helpful, and friendly with lots of great tips and advice. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel .

Good location, clean rooms, great staff, be sure to ask for Omar when you check in, he will provide you with a clear overview of which restaurants and which trips are the best value. Most major Hollywood attractions are just a short walk or ride from here and Universal Studios are just around the corner as is the Hollywood Bowl

Overall, the hotel was fine. We requested a junior suite away from Highland Avenue after reading other reviews complaining about the noise. The room was fine, a little cramped with multiple tables and a sofa. Our main complaint was that there was little room for our clothes in the bureau (seriously, two drawers?) My other complaint was about the free breakfast. It was fine, very basic, but it was a zoo. Very difficult to find a place to sit; and the choices were very limited. The hotel is also near the Hollywood Bowl, which seems to have events nightly. We never heard the events from the hotel, but traffic on Highland is crazy, in both directions. Granted, traffic in LA is horrendous in general but trying to get into the hotel, it's impossible to pull in if you're heading north. Fortunately, the first light you come to, make a right, there's an easy turn-around to use so that you can make a left at the light and get into the hotel. Unfortunately, I didn't find as simple a way to turn north from the hotel, but there are ways.
Having pointed out the negative first, I do want to point out the positives. The hotel is VERY close (5 minute walk) to Hollywood Blvd, to where the Dolby Theater is located (and the Chinese Theater). It's extremely convenient if you're looking to experience Hollywood Blvd.. The staff here is EXCELLENT. All of them. We always encountered friendly faces, and people always were willing to help and answer any questions we had. I especially want to give kudos to Omar, who is as good as all of the other reviews indicated. He is extremely helpful and professional. Additionally, Mickey was very helpful as well. Nothing but top marks for these two. We also found the beds to be extremely comfortable.

Room Tip: Recommend one of the refurbished rooms (although it's still a very new hotel) OR recommend somet...

Stayed here for 4 nights in early August 2013. As expected the hotel was a 5-10 minute walk to Hollywood Blvd. The breakfast was delicious and copious, but the room was small. There is no bell-hop or room service, but that was known before we arrived. There was a pizza place and 24 hr subway across the road. What I wasn't expecting was the number of homeless in the vicinity. Hollywood...more like homelesswood, as my son renamed it!

My biggest issue here was the very poor WiFi in my room. I couldn't get a signal! Very frustrating! Fortunately they were kind enough to comp my valet parking charge.

I would stay here again.

Our family of 4 arrived in your hotel after spending a very unpleasant night at a hotel a couple of addresses down the street. Fortunately we found your hotel nearby. We were greeted well and sincerely felt welcomed. The front desk staff in the morning and the evening are true professionals. The valet parking and cleaning staff are friendly and attentive. The breakfast are was busy and kept clean. Every challenge we faced was responded to by the staff. Thank you all.
