“Fun, free walk to see the stars”
Reviewed March 1, 2013 via mobile

My husband and I enjoyed walking up and down the Hollywood Walk of Fame, checking out the names of all the stars. The area closest to the Chinese Theater was pretty crowded with tourists and costumed characters, which allowed for fun people watching!

“If you're into the stars then you'll be happy”
Reviewed March 1, 2013

Otherwise such an ordinary thing to visit. The surrounding and shops are just so down market. At least when we walked a bit too far we did spot the "Hollywood Sign" otherwise I would say don't bother. We did visit 22 years ago thinking maybe it had improved but sadly that was not the case and we won't go again. Every minute you have someone trying to sell you a tour or you can go into the very cheap tourist shops. Not my cup of tea.

“Hmmm”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

Visitng the Hollywood walk of fame in the area near Grauman's theatre / Highland metro station is a bit over-rated - the area is a bit seedy. However, It is neat to actually be in the same spot where celebrities get their stars and to see the handprints of stars from even the 1930's and 40's outside of Grauman's theatre. There are lots of cartoon characters dressed up on the sidewalk - however they will ask you for a donation to take a picture. Beware, that as you walk toward Vine street, the area changes drastically, with run-down shops selling souvenirs and a fair amount of street people. To escape the street people, there's a great little mall, the hollywood & highland centre that's nice to walk around with a great Sweets shop and Willy Wonka Chocolate shop! It's also connected to the Dolby theatre, where the Oscar's take place. We were there 1 week before the Academy Awards and it was interesting seeing the preparations going on. From the balcony at the Hollywood & Highland centre, you can get a great view of the Hollywood sign.

Hollywood is a great place to visit if you like bad food, enjoy consorting with prostitutes, or want to buy clothing that makes you look trashy.

“its OK”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

I've never been there. So we drove to the aquarium on long beach. And we still had time so I decided to drive a little more and go to Hollywood. I was expecting to see it nice. But the streets were very dirty. Good thing I went on a Sunday because the streets were not packed at all. Only drawback is that every museum cost you $17.00 and it's much worth it if you buy them online and go for the VIP.
