“Excitement from Start to Finsh”

Could only spend one day here and we decided to book a few months in advance and go for the VIP package....We DIDNT regret it.
Start about 9am and from the very first moment you enter with your VIP ticket, you are ushered-off privatley into a private restaurant for free breakfast etc and then you get to meet your tour guide.
They will then bring you through all the Big Park Rides (where you can skip the queue and be on them within 5 mins) and your tour guide will even hold your bags etc while you go on it.
Once all the rides are done, Lunch is Unbelievable. Its extremely high quality and you can eat as much as you want.
Then the Studio tour.....This blew me away, and the best thing about the VIP package is that you are allowed to walk around the sets and even visits prop warehouses etc that would be off-limits to general members of the public.
Tour ends around 4.30-5.00pm, you can then continue to use your VIP ticket to skip the queue on any rides right up to Park Closing time.

I think this package is the only way to go, but keep in mind that it wouldn't suit Families with really young children etc. A definite for Movie enthusiasts.

“Glad we visited. One day is enough”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2013

My husband and I spent one day of our 3 days in LA at Universal Studios. Unfortunately the weather was cold and this had an adverse impact on our enjoyment.

Having been to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure in Florida, these studios did not compare so well. The studio/tram tour was enjoyable, as was the Haunted House. Unfortunately the shows are a repeat of the ones in Florida, so offered nothing new.

If you have not visited a Universal Studios before and/or the weather is kind, I recommend a visit for adults and children alike. We bought two day passes, but found that one day was enough. The queues/lines were short, which meant we could experience all the rides and shows in one day. Because we had experienced the same rides/shows in the larger Florida studios, we did not feel the need to visit each attraction more than once and one day was more than enough.

“Awesome rides”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2013

Being my third Universal Studio visit after Osaka and Singapore, I did enjoy my stay in Universal Hollywood. Enjoyed the Backlot tour which can only be seen in Hollywood. A must visit for family and friends ! The place is not that big or not that small.

“So Much Fun”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2013

We got there when the gates opened and moved like lightening to get to the Transformer ride. So fun! We got right back in line and did it again! The lines hadn't really developed yet - so, it's true: the early bird gets the worm! We managed to ride all the back-lot rides 2 or 3 times before we ever really got stuck in a line anywhere. Our family ended up really loving the Mummy rollercoaster ride - it's so much fun!
By noon the lines were long and we moved on to the front side of the park - which we soon realized: it's more for the younger kids. With teenagers - the park just didn't have enough big rides to keep us entertained for much longer. It was a really good time and we had fun but it's "done" in less than a day if you're a roller-coaster junkie. :-)
The tour of the back lot was fun and interesting. If you time it right you can eat some lunch and then go sit on the tour ride. That was actually the longest line we had to stand in.

“Universal Studios is AWESOME for the whole family!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2013

We (family of 4) visited Universal Studios Los Angeles at the end of July, 2013. We were in L.A. for a couple of days prior to a European Vacation and the kids (13 and 18) picked Universal Studios as the place they wanted to see while there. I am in my 50's and am not easily impressed (turning into grumpy old man I suppose) BUT...we had an exciting day full of laughter and screams (some of the rides are outrageous) and left at the end of our visit with nothing but good memories. The rides really are amazing, but make sure you check out the back lot tour as well. It may surprise you, as it is a lot more fun than it sounds on paper...Splurge if you can and get the passes that allow you to skip the long lines that may be there on busy days of the week (can't remember what they are called), but are definitely worth the extra $$$ if in your budget. All in All Universal Studios was the Perfect place to spend a day and we would go back again!
