My family loves movies so this was a must. The studio tour wasn't great, pretty lame really. The 3D rides were pretty fun but could make you sick so don't eat the super expensive food until after you finish the rides in the lower area (especially The Mummy ride). The upper area rides are much tamer. If you don't want to spend $20.00 for a hot dog, pop and fries and another $3.00 for a water, bring your own snacks. The products for sale are very expensive as well, very similar to Disneyland that way. I wouldn't bring small children to this park, the best rides would be too much for them and there are height restrictions. Overall a good time but very expensive.

We went to every attraction in the park, this ride was by far the best! Bring a towel and know you'll get really wet! We didn't mind as it was 105 degrees the day we went?

If you have been to the one in Florida, dont bother going to this one in LA. Its nice but very small. Its also more for kids, differently than the Florida one.
You can see everything and go to all the attractions in half a day.

Took a group of four teens rangin in age from 13 -18. First, the bad...VEYlong lines and VERYlong waits. Universal's current marketing stategy seems to punish those of us who refuse to splurge ~$160 per person for a special go-to-the-head-of-the-line pass. Even though I forked over over $500 in admission for our party of six, we were forced to watch in frustration as many others walked past us without waiting. If Universal is going to treat its non-premium paying customers as second class citizens, then they should change "regular admission" to something more descriptive, like maybe "long line admission" or "crappy experience admission". The studio tour was enjoyable, but it was not worth the 110 minutes we had to wait for the privilege. The rides were okay, but mostly of the motion-simulation variety that aren't all that special. On the plus side, the CityWalk area was pretty cool and, since that area was free to visit, I kind of wish we had just tayed there and skipped the high prices and long lines. We expected Universal to be one of the highlights of our trip but it actually finished pretty far down on our list. There are better ways to spend your valuable vacation time and money.

We were staying at the Hilton hotel which is just across the road from Universal Studios. As we were so close we decided to get there as soon as it opened as I had read reviews that said the park gets a lot busier later in the morning. As the Transformers ride seemed the most popular we went straight there and only queued up for about 5 minutes! The ride is amazing and I would definitely recommend it - although it may be a bit scary for younger children. We also went on the Studio Tour early in the morning before it go busier and I really enjoyed it - you get to see lots of film sets as well as some special effects. The park did get busier as the day went on but as we had got there early we managed to do most of the rides by about 2pm. The longest we queued was about 25 minutes which was for the Simpsons ride. There aren't as many rides as the Orlando park but I enjoyed all the rides and the park was small so it wasn't as tiring walking around. I also enjoyed the different characters that walk around the park - the best being the minions from Despicable Me and Transformers. I also recommend going to see the Waterworld show - which I think is better than the film! We just purchased normal tickets and I'm so glad we didn't pay more for the front of line ones as it would have been a waste of money! It might not be as good as the Orlando park but if you have a spare day in LA I definitely suggest you visit here.
