We are two adults and three boys (7, 9, 11), and we all just LOVED this place. With a front of line pass we visited avery show and attraction during one day (9:30 - 17:30), and every single thing that we saw or experienced was just great. You must see the Waterworld show!

This place beats Disney and Legoland any day.

Ok food, beer available.

Arrive early and start with the the backlot tour. That's my best piece of advice. My family and I headed straight to the tour, got right on the tram, and avoided the long lines that appeared by the time our tour was over about 20 minutes later. Even though you're restricted to a tram, it's a fun experience. Sure, it's campy at points, but amusing nonetheless. We saw the Bates Motel, the "Desperate Housewives" street, the "Murder She Wrote" outdoor set, lots of special effects demonstrated, and, from afar, some filming taking place.

After the tour, we did the "Shrek" 4-D experience and especially enjoyed "The Simpsons" ride. As the morning wore on, lines got longer, but we appreciated the signs throughout the park that indicated wait times. The estimates were pretty accurate. We thought it was fun to be able to take our picture in front of huge photos of the Hollywood sign (so you could make it look as if you were standing near it) and a New York City street scene. The "museum" of film artifacts, costumes, etc. is worth missing.

We had an LA Go Card which meant that we got in for "free," so we didn't mind spending only half the day at Universal Studios--we hit Warner Brothers Studios in the afternoon (a very different experience). Regular admission is expensive as are food, drinks, and souvenirs. The city walk that adjoins the park is free and contains lots of restaurants and shops. Would I go again? Probably not, but it's worth one visit.

We hadn't been to Universal in 8 years so we were anxious to see what had changed. Overall the park is not much different except that it seems almost all the attractions were "virtual". No E.T. ride, the Jurassic ride was closed for refurbishment (ugh!) and the only reason we went there in the first place. The Transformers "ride" was crazy!! I did not know what to expect and closed my eyes for much of it, but my family LOVED it! The Shrek performance was good.

The highlight for us was the tram tour, which has been greatly improved since our last visit. Actually, we loved it.

Well it was raining the whole time. Had been in the park 3x in the year so we're familiar with the place. Transformer ride was great but not that amazing. Still love the Mummy ride. Jurassic ride was just ok. The Tour is a must do but this time they close the KingKong. Waterworld is a must see.

Fortunately, someone sold us their extra tickets at the gate and we paid half-price. Well done overall, but the lines were endless and people cut them all the time. Surprisingly, one of the rides that had a decent waiting time was the Jurassic Park one, which we did twice. In my opinion, it was the best. The other ones are just not worth it once you've waited for 1h and a myriad people have cut in front of you. But I also think zombies are kinda passe and am not into all the gory Halloween stuff. I cannot speak to the Universal City tour, or studio tours, because we were there at night, and for this one event, so bear that in mind.
