“Didnt see a show. Went on a walking tour through this theatre”
Reviewed September 5, 2013

I was on a walking tour of Hollywood - the booth is just in front of this theatre - and I was flabbergasted by the exterior. What excess! My goodness, theatres certainly aren't built as flamboyantly nowadays. We went inside to the auditorium and there are still bits of the original interior left. This is part of the history of Hollywood and well worth seeing. even if it's just the outside of it. Silly me, I tripped and fell going up the auditorium's interior stairs and, so, here's a hint: take off your sunglasses before entering the theatre!

Reviewed August 10, 2013

We took a tour of the facility .The guide had a number of photos of the theatre from its very early days .We were able to identify the outline of the original theatre before the new sound system /seats were introduced .A true piece of Hollywood History .

“You.... must... visit... and see a movie too!”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

In 1922 Sid Grauman of Graumans Chinese Theatre fame opened the doors of this truly magnificent movie palace on Hollywood Boulevard, done in the architectural style of an Egyptian temple. Inside,as you enter to take your seat you see that the theatre looks every inch the part and has a beautiful "Ra" with outstretched wings on the enormous ceiling. The American Cinematheque screens amazing films both old and new here. Sometimes the stars and directors are on hand to introduce them and discuss them. All in all, an experience you must have when you come to Hollywood.
