“Tex-Mex Fix”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 15, 2012

Had lunch. Hard for me to like Mexican food when I come from Texas that has the best in this category. However, it was tasty for California and not too spicy. NiceTex-Mex fix.

We went to this restaurant during our stay at the nearby Crowne Plaza hotel. We had been to a sister restaurant in San Diego many years ago and were eager to return.

The restaurant is located water side and has an outdoor patio with heaters. Although we were impressed with the location and layout we believe the restaurant needs refreshing.

Our table was not properly cleaned and although the waitress came by to check our drinks she didn't bother to remove the dirty dishes. The chips ans salsa were very good. The Flautas appetizer were good and served hot. Unfortunately our main courses of Carnitas and Chicken Enchaladas were poor and served tepid.

We left disappointed in this Mexican experience.

“Drinks: Just Fine Food: Never got it”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2012 via mobile

I must say that I was incredibly disappointed with this place. I expected pretty decent service being a chain of fairly well run restaurants.

My group of three was promptly seated in the bar area with a plesent view of the boats. The server very quickly greeted us and introduced herself at which time our drink order was taken, then she was not seen again for at least 15 minutes. (One beer, one margarita, one water)

Once our drinks arrived, we placed an order for food. (Nachos, wings, and a single beef taco) After about another 15-20 minutes the food came, minus the single taco at which point we were told it was on its way out.

No worries, the booze kept coming nobody cared. Then at about 45 minutes from when we ordered the taco the server says I'll check on that taco, when we said nevemind as the other two people already almost finished their food.

How can a Mexican food place not handle an individual taco? We thought perhaps the place was busy until we looked around and saw only two other tables had people.

To top it off, not so much as an apology, all we got was a "ok, I'll cancel the order."

In the end, of the three that ordered food only two actually got anything.

Pros: Great Location
Cons: Unable to manage a simple taco

“Great Atmosphere and Authentic Mexican Cuisine”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2012

Visiting San Pedro for the Pre-Opening of the Battleship Iowa located up the way. Stopped in here for a bite, found a great restaraunt. Hostess was fast to greet and get a great seat overlooking the marina and channel. Server had a long list of appetizers and drinks, menu was easy to peruse and Server assisted with selection. Our choices we're delivered quickly and well presented. But was "just plain mexican food". Great environment and people all about, really fun and good lunch.
A bonus was the incredibly huge ships passing by as we enjoyed our food.
