This is is fresh in my mind because I just went there tonight. This Italian Ristorante gets a lot of things right. My Linguine with clams entree was very flavorful and filling. My attractive dining companion really enjoyed her pasta with marinara sauce. We ordered a light dinner so didn't get anything extra besides the main dishes. They do have a prix fix is dinner for $55 that I will try when iI have more time for a relaxing dining experience.

The dim lighting made it special and cozy. In fact, the wait staff turned down the lights during our meal. The effect created was the candle flickering between us drew us in to the middle. The kitchen is an open one where the chefs and the guests can see each other. That was nice. The music they play really puts in the mood. It have the verve, adventure and playfulness I like when enjoying a very good meal. It was authentic Italian with one song featuring violins. Others were Spanish numbers I recognized from the Zumba (Latin American) Dance classes I take. Muy elegante!

I will defintely go back to this wonderful place. Now if they only had strolling violin players come to your table like La Gondolla Restarant in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood used to have, then this place would be off the charts.

We went as a large group on New Year's Eve, arriving only 30 minutes before the 10pm kitchen closing time. They had a special menu for NYE and were out of two of the items but that's understandable, after all we did come in fairly late.

The restaurant has an Italian-village look and folks are friendly. The food ranged from quite good to very good, and the wine was reasonably priced. They take their wine seriously, we saw a dinner party going on in the private wine room that was lined with bottles.

While we were there, they had a 3-piece band with a singer in the crooner tradition, a young kid but quite good and it made for very nice ambiance.

My fault with them was for the service, and I really do think we got a server who was having a bad day or just didn't want another large table just before kitchen closing. The other servers seemed friendly, but our server was being perfunctory and standoffish, making as feel not completely welcome. Service did improve near the end of the meal. The manager came by always smiling and chatting.

I had the cioppino which was pretty good - it had a very generous amount of seafood but alot of it was crab, which made for alot of work in eating my dinner. The salad was good but was served a minute or two after my entree, again I understand the kitchen was closing but this could have been done better.

I am willing to give them another try because I think this could be a very good restaurant on a better day. My experience was about 3.5 stars, but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.

My aunt insisted on taking us to her favorite Italian restaurant for lunch. So glad we came - we had a booth next to the opened windows facing the street (not noisy), and enjoyed a leisurely lunch with attentive service. The bruschetta was tasty, and we tried both daily specials (fish and beef), along with pasta. Everything was fresh and flavorful. We even splurged on desserts - creme brulee perfectly prepared, and a chocolate torte that must have been a million calories but worth every bite!

I've had both lunch and dinner here recently. The food was excellent, as was the service. The special Sticky Toffee was especially good! The restaurant has two areas, a cozy dining room in the front and a light, open area in the back. Both are quiet enough for conversation. I have had small business meetings here in the past. Parking was readily available.
