Definitely recommend. Food was fresh, beer was cold. A very manageable wait for a Friday night. Large selection of seafood on the menu and even very good kids menu.

My family lives in the area and The Fish Company is a favorite spot for dinner out when I am visiting. I have lived in Los Angeles, Boston, and Santa Barbara - and this restaurant is up there with the best in those "big foodie cities". The menu is extensive, the food is consistently excellent with the freshest fish and other delicious choices. Its a bit noisy but that adds to the fun. Family owned since 1981 - its worth a trip to Los Alamitos (just next to Long Beach) for the food.

For the best clam chowder around come to the Original Fish Company. Their chowder is the best in Southern California. The fish here is also excellent. My favorite is the mesquite grilled ahi tuna. The freshness of the fish makes all the difference. While the restaurant is not located in a scenic area, it's well worth a visit if you like fish.

The fish that is served here is fresh and well-prepared. The portions are generous and the service is generally quite good. Aside from the prices, there isn't much bad I can say about this restaurant.

It is one of my best restaurants. I like the ambiance and food. There is no scenic view: however, it is a very pleasant restaurant. It is the original Fish Company . Fish is always so fresh, and not just fresh frozen. There is a beautiful display of different kind of fish and shell fish just as one enters the restaurant. It is opened at 11:30 am and by noon it is packed. It takes some time just to read the menu: Avocado stuffed with dangeness crab and bay shrimp, smoked wild albacore or king salmon (absolutely delicious), jumbo lump meat crab cakes. New England clam chowder is one of the best soups i have ever had. Salads are fabulous. Lobster and crab combo is incredible. Service is very good. The stuff makes me feel so special. And if you are in a hurry, you can have your food to go. Wine list is pretty impressive. Prices are very competitive. Great restaurant.
