I did two days here recently and it is evident that a great deal is being invested to bring this hotel up to the Holiday Inn standards. The lobby is modern and though a room was not available when I dragged my luggage in, that was no problem because they were happy to store it in a secure room while I went out to find a barber and lunch. When I got back, I was able to check-in and that process was seamless.
My first room had a slight issue and though I was fine with staying in it, after discussing it with the front desk clerk, we decided to move me to another room. The rooms were clean and updated as well. My second one faced the street and I slept fine with no street noise and all rooms came with complimentary internet which was a plus. I also liked that each room also had a microwave and small mini-fridge.
All employees here were very nice, always had a smile and should my travels bring me to Long Beach again, I would not hesitate to stay.

We certainly have put a lot of money to update our property and the results are fabulous. We are nearly complete with just some finishing touches on the exterior of the building. We were not aware that the hotel was under construction when we booked the hotel until we received the reminder of our reservation. The renovations were not an issue as far as noise or cleanliness but more that the renovations that we done were half done at least in our room we stayed in. The bathroom would not drain the water after we showered the first night we were there. The shower looked like the original from when the hotel was built and the caulking was about two inches thick on around the shower faucet and tub surround. The walls were paper thin and we could hear our neighbor snoring both nights we were there. As far as the location "downtown" is a bit of a stretch. While you are on the main "street" downtown is located you are about 2 miles from the actual "downtown". If you are looking for a place to just lay your head at night then this is sufficient but nothing more. We really only slept at the hotel and nothing more.

The staff was super. I particulary wanted to compliment Dylan Cook at the front desk, and Corina and her ace cook Eric in the restaurant. The staff made the extended stay fun and the quality of the food and drink availble was also super.

I chose this hotel, as it's within walking distance of the Queen Mary and ideal to stagger back to after an evening aboard the ship seeing in the new year. The room was large and clean with a kitchen included. There is a secure car park for $15 a day. Buffet breakfast was a good start to the day.
I stayed at the hotel during the Long Beach Travel show. I stayed last year and had a good experience. No complaints. This year they put me in an older room. The room had hair on the bed ,in the shower and on the toilet. I was very nice and went quietly to the front desk and told the director of sales. I am in sales and thought it was the right thing to do. They asked if I wanted someone to come up and clean the room. I told them yes since I would be out all afternoon. When I got in late, no one had been to the room. I mentioned it in the morning no apologies. I sent a letter to their corporate office and they told me they would forward to management. Never heard from them. I didn't want anything for free I just wanted it fixed. Needless to say none of us will ever stay in this hotel again. An apology and doing what you say you are going to do goes a long way. I wasn't going to comment, however since they never acknowledged the problem it wasn't important them. It was to me. The only good experience was front desk girl on Saturday morning and the shuttle driver in the evening. Great customer service.

I remebering discussing your original correspondence after your stay with us and believe that our Guest Services Manager did attempt to reach out to you. Again, we failed to follow through to ensure contact was made. We certainly take all of your comments very seriously and realize that we have lost a loyal guest by failing to deliver on the fundamentals as a team right from the start.
