We stay in hotels more than most (we're top tier with two hotel groups) and we picked this hotel simply because we wanted an affordable place to spend 5 nights that was close to a convention at which we were exhibitors. We had no special expectations (apart from clean and well located) and didn't expect more than just a room in which to sleep. We were more than pleasantly surprised! The staff, under the supervision of a wonderful "character" whose name was Dante, really went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed, and more importantly, that we were comfortable in every way. Our room, a one-bedroom suite, was very spacious, very well designed for the business as well as vacation traveler, had a spectacular view of the harbor, complete with the Queen Mary (one of the world's great cruise ships of the Art Deco period, which is now a museum). The room was spotless (I'm a bit obsessive about cleanliness) and the kitchen had a full-size refrigerator, two burner stove top, microwave, and was fully equipped with utensils, plates, glass ware, cups, and large size coffee maker, pots and pans (which we didn't use, but would have been nice for an extended stay); there was also a small dishwasher!
Its location is also terrific, and only minutes from anything/everything Long Beach has to offer. There are excellent restaurants within walking distance, and an easy, short drive (5-minutes) to everything else (and for those with cars, no parking fees). Breakfast was also excellent, and when they learned we had some dietary restrictions, even prepared things specially for us!
Overall, everyone was warm and welcoming, the room wonderfully spacious and very comfortable, and extremely convenient. But most of all, by the time we left, we felt like we were really in our own "residence" ... and look forward to returning "home" the next time we come to Long Beach!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a harbor view -- it's wonderful, day and night.

I just stayed at this hotel for a weekend getaway the room was a king studio suite with a kitchen and the view and location was perfect. The breakfast great, the people friendly, the room was perfect for two with all the you can ask for, restuarants were easy to get to with a navigation system of course, the ports of call and shoreline village great places to go on outings and the walk from the hotel towards the Queen Mary was wonderful also. If you are looking to stay in hotel and chill or go out there is plenty to do all around it is a a modern and awesome hotel. Only suggestion was go with your food already to cook so you dont have to go look for a store if you dont want to go eat out, but reccomend Bubba Gump to go eat out. Overall will go back in two months again.

Before arriving to the hotel I was not familiar with anything in the area... To my surprise the hotel was in a perfect location. There is a wonderful walkway along the water that had beautiful views and is less than a mile to the Queen Mary. There are some really nice restaurants along the way too. There is also a free shuttle bus that takes you back over the bridge to many attractions. I would stay there again!

We tried the Residence Inn by the harbor in Long Beach on our yearly stay, and will never stay anywhere else when we visit next year. Perfect view on the 6th floor looking out at the harbor in our one bedroom suite. The Marriott properties are all very high standard, but this one had the additional view and exceptionally helpful and kind staff in all areas to make it stand out above the others. We could sit in our chairs, see the Queen Mary, the Catalina catamarans, the birds, the fishermen, and the best of all, the sunrise.

Room Tip: pay a little extra for the harbor view rooms. They are definitely worth it.

I was staying here not too long ago for a weekend getaway with some friends, and I was not only satisfied, but very pleasantly surprised. I will go into detail.

ROOM: We had a suite, and though we were facing the dock yard and all, who cares? Rooms were big, clean, and smelled fresh. Beds were comfy , soft and helped me rest my head after a few rounds of patron.

AMENITIES: Now, you have to remember,. Long Beach is a bit chilly no matter what time of year, so being in a hot tub that was literally on the waterfront was cold, but it was NICE. GREAT View, and they have a bbq that you can use to grill up your steaks and what not. Loved it. Continental breakfast was standard, but good.

Location: Being right across the bridge, and across the Queen Mary, puts you kind of away from the bustle of the Pike and Rainbow Harbor, but thats the great thing. Its quieter, and much for comfortable that way.

OVERALL: I loved this spot. Now if they only had an on-site cafe of some sorts, itd be perfect, but all in all... you will not go wrong with this place. Cheers.

Room Tip: Really, I have none. If you go with friends, be sure to just relax and have a good time, but if with...

I had a very pleasant stay here while attending a weekend conference at the Long Beach Convention Center with some friends. We had booked two rooms and were concerned that the hotel was not within walking distance from the Convention Center. As it turns out, we were very glad that it was only a 10-minute drive away. We were glad to be away from the crazy congestion that had built up from the weekend event. There was plenty of parking and the hotel was quiet. The rooms, service, and amenities were very nice. We particularly enjoyed the hot breakfast buffet. Great place to relax too.

First of all I am writing from the perspective of being a Marriott fan.
Hotel location is excellent, you can walk everywhere or take a shuttle. Our room was nice with a seating area and kitchette. The breakfast was very good (although why they only have non fat cream cheese for bagels is beyond me!). The lobby area was expansive with lots of spaces to hang out or watch TV. Staff was excellent. Pool nice. Quiet hotel.
Cons-some carpet in halls was dirty, they blast air freshner but sometimes smell a moldy smell. Housekeeping didn't follow up on requests such as for extra towels.

Room Tip: top floor overlooking the Queen Mary was nice. Be advised you wake up to a glorious sunrise if you...
