The location of this hotel is second to none. It is easy to get to and I can't imagine a situation where someone couldn't find a restaurant to their liking with all the choices that are within walking distance.

The rooms are very quiet. This hotel is very well built. The rooms themselves are contemporary in design and very, very comfortable.

My wife and two of our children recently stayed at the Renaissance. Location was great for walking down to the Pier. Room was perfect for four with the pool and work out room first class. Will definitely plan a return stay.

My stay at the Renaissance was extremely satisfying. Property is in a great location, staff is super friendly. Great pool and fitness center with plenty towels to use pool side.

The Housekeeping service was excellent. Each day is was consistent with the same level of service.
My place to stay each time I visit my friends in Long Beach.

Room Tip: Easy access to hotel on the bus #111. One block to hotel.

My family stayed at the Renaissance Hotel (Marriott Property) for one night during our last leg of our vacation. The entire hotel appears to be recently renovated with very upscale appointments. They have a full bar in the lobby as well as a restaurant and Starbucks store accessible from the main lobby. The rooms are very roomy with the same updated furnishings. Beautiful bathroom tilework and large showers. Digital Cable TV is available on a large flat screen TV, with several convenient AC outlets and USB charging ports in the room. A small fridge was also present in the room we stayed in.

The heated outdoor pool on the 3rd floor was great for my son. Very relaxing pool side lounge chairs available.

Lots of restaurants nearby within walking distance (we ate dinner at the Rock Bottom Brewery just across the street).

In all, an excellent hotel for my family to unwind during our long vacation trip and also for business travelers.

Pros:

1) Beautiful recently remodeled hotel near several restaurants
2) Big outdoor heated pool
3) Large bathroom and shower

Con's:

1) Hotel self parking is $18/night
2) No free breakfast included in hotel room rate
3) Room WiFi is $9.95 or $14.95 per day

Stayed: August 2014

We stayed here 3 nights. Poor air conditioning (just air blowing from a vent despite having engineering checking performance). Newly renovated decor; must have had a strict budget or inept decorator. Poolside amenities inadequate, only 14 chaises for about 30 people. Had to request housekeeping finally @ 3:00pm. Staff not friendly or helpful. They seemed preoccupied and bothered by requests. I did like the showerhead in the bathtub. This is NOT a 4 star hotel!

This hotel has been updated and upgraded! It is now a very hip hotel in a hip location. Long Beach is happening and this hotel is right in the center of it all.
The hotels plays chill music in the lobby and elevators so it seems cool from the get go. The staff is great and on top of everything. The room are nice not scenic but well appointed. Beds are great. The fitness room is ok and the pool is small but well attended. Parking is easy, there is much in walking distance or using the free busses so you will not need a car.

The only drawback I can find is the Starbucks closes at 1700. But there is so much to do outside of the hotel you will not need the Starbucks. Stay here if you are in town!

Room Tip: Front side room are better. Clock tower in the back is nosy!
