“Go back in time to the "glory days"!”
Reviewed January 25, 2013

This is a great way to spend a day in Long Beach. The free shuttle bus got me there in 15mins from the Hyatt Regency. I bought a ticket that got me into the Princess Diana exhibit, the Glory Days tour, and the submarine.
You can explore the whole ship on your own but the tour is definitely worth it. Our guide was very entertaining! He told us all about the history of the boat and as we walked around, he explained what the original use of the rooms were for. It's worth visiting the impressive engine room and propellor afterwards at the other end of the ship.
Have tea in the Tea Room! They serve you little sandwiches, scones with clotted cream, and mini desserts with your choice of tea. Very English! I did this before heading into the Diana exhibit which was on the same floor.
The Diana exhibit documented the current Royal family and her life. They have a nice selection of her dresses as well as some of Kate Middletons. Plan to spend about an hour here as there is a lot to take in. It was nice to learn about all the charities Princess Diana worked for.
The Queen Mary has a nice selection of shops to get souvenirs from and if I came back I would definitely stay on board in the hotel. The tour takes you through the hotel so you get to see what it's like.
The submarine was ok but it would have been nice to have a tour guide explain the different compartments to get a better feel for what life would've been like for the sailors on board.
Make sure you have at least 5 hours to spare as you can spend the whole day here exploring the ship.

“The Tea Room at the Queen Mary - Wonderful Experience”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

Two of my girlfriends and I decided to make a day of it at the Queen Mary in Long Beach. We purchased tickets for the Diana Exhibit and decided to split up our time in the exhibit with lunch. The Tea Room was on the same floor, so we chose it.

Our lunches were wonderful. The noodles in the chicken noodle soup were hand made and the soup was perfectly seasoned. One of my friends commented that the chopped salad was the best she had ever tasted. And, I must say my gravlax sandwich was special.

The best part of our experience, though, was Dwight, our waiter. He was never intrusive, but always there with what ever we needed and with delicious suggestions. He was handsome and friendly with impeccable manners. He made the experience wonderful.

“Lunch at the Tea Room”
Reviewed January 14, 2013

We visited the Queen Mary to see the Princess Diana exhibition. Beside it was this Tea Room so we stopped for a bite to eat. We all went for half and half - soup and half a sandwich. The food was delicious. There was an afternoon tea on the menu which I would have loved to have gone for but didn't have the room - sandwiches, cakes and scones. We were sitting by the window and had a sea-view. Good service, the waitress kept topping up my iced-tea. Cost us about $58.00 including tea and coffee for 3.

“Eat on board”
Reviewed January 14, 2013

We enjoyed several meals on board. The food was good, service great, and they were in no hurry to have you leave to free up the table.

“A Great Experience!!!!”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

While staying onboard the Queen Mary recently for the first time we dined at the Sunday Champagne Brunch. It was quite an experience to see the opulent, Art Deco Grand Salon and to be waited on like royalty!!!!! The selection of food was very good but hard to get to due to the number of people attending - some of the staff were a little frazzled trying to get near the buffet to replace dishes. The entertainment - a lady playing a harp, was delightful!!!!! We would go again despite the 'buzz' of the place.
