“Great property and staff”

I stayed at the Westin Long Beach with family for a few days while also doing some work in the area and the property was great. Nice location of course but the staff were all quite wonderful...for example, we asked for an extra ice bucket and received the bucket filled with ice, and quickly. Service was great in every department we interacted with. On a side note my son lost his ipod and I called after we departed to see if it was found in the room. The housekeeping supervisor checked the room while I was on hold but unfortunately did not find anything. I decided to call a few weeks later just to make sure it wasn't found somewhere else in the hotel and Marjorie in Housekeeping actually had it! I am so thrilled and grateful and it was an amazing end to an already great experience with this property. Thank you!!!

I expected more from Westin. I received a special deal Travelocity for a two night stay. I think I got the worst room in the hotel. The bathroom door knob was hanging off the bathtub filled with water when taking a shower (really gross) and the bath stopper did not work at all. I expect a certain level of service from a high end hotel. This hotel did not deliver. It seemed more like Howard Johnson's than a Westin Property.

As this was a Westin, it definitely was clean and felt safe.

But the room was mediocre, small and dated, and at almost $300 a night (I paid less for that at a Ritz Carlton) i expected MUCH better. There were no bathrobes or other amenities that I would have expected. This is frustrating as i tend to always choose Westin's yet there is no consistency with the brand on what they have in the rooms, so I never know what to pack or what not to pack.

The food mediocre.

I won't stay at this Westin Again.

We stayed two night in this Hotel. Both were with a gap. The first was on a Friday, the second after checkin out was on a Sunday. When we arrived Friday all went super smooth. When we arrived on Sunday, only two people where working the front desk, mind you early afternoon, and it took for ever. People where waiting. The Westin location is amazing. You are walking distance of the main Convention Center, the Queen Mary, the Rainbow Harbor, the LionClub Lighthouse, the Marina with tons of shops, attractions for kids, restaurants like the Gladstone and the Parker's Lighthouse, also the Yard House. Very centric. The Hotel is chic, the first time on Friday crew at reception desk those ladies where very friendly and made it easy to check out. The hotel has a nice pool, the view from the the room on Friday was ok, we where looking out to main street, on the tenth floor; on Sunday we were on the fourth floor and the view was not good at all. The amenities in the bathroom are nice heavenly by Westin. Love the soap and lotion. One thing my husband beg me to make a comment is the ridiculous small ice buckets! Seriously can barely get any ice in them. The hotel is big, modern, good elevators and excellent decor. The front door men are super courteous. Also very nice room has refrigerator, small but nice.Easy access to hotel and of course the location is incredible. Like this Hotel and it is busy.

My children and I were in Long Beach for a 4-day long Competitive Event at the Convention Center. We stayed here because it was one of the contracted hotels for athletes and families. Even with the contract rate, room rates were still considered pricey, but complimentary Wi-Fi was included. I must say it was quite a comfortable stay for our 4 night stay. Beddings were super comfy, room was well appointed and clean! Mini fridge was hidden in the cabinet, and the temp control didn't work too well. SPG membership got us a room on the 14th floor, with splendid view of the ocean.

I could see that the hotel caters to both business and family travelers. Staff were all very friendly and courteous throughout our stay. It is a perfect location if you have business to attend to at the Convention Center, just a short walk across the street!

A good variety of dining options is nearby, all within walking distance. On the beach side are your chain restaurant options, but I would highly recommend you to dine at smaller restaurants/eateries in town. We tried a Cuban cafe and a French crepe cafe, both were outstanding!! Safeway and CVS is nearby as well, so you can pick up some simple breakfast food and snacks.

I would recommend staying at the Westin if you don't mind spending some extra $$ in exchange for good service and clean and comfy stay!

I attended a conference in Long Beach and the hotel was billed as "connected to the Convention Center". It is not! It is about a block away. The staff is helpful and the rooms are large and well decorated. The bed and linens were the best part! I wanted to pack them in my suitcase and take them home! The room was reasonably priced, however if you want any printing other than boarding passes, you pay for time on the computer as well as per sheet of printed material. Very expensive to print out park passes! Room service was disappointing. I asked for eggs over hard and they came sunny side up and partially raw. I stopped ordering room service for breakfast. Overall, I would stay there again and not use the "business office" or order room service.

Room Tip: Rooms on the upper floors are very quiet!

Every employee we met was exceptionally polite, pleasant, and nice without it being forced. The room met our expectations and we will look for Westins where ever we travel. The room price was fair, the only down side was the in house eatery-$$$$$$$. Go a short distance from the Hotel and get a meal for much less money.
